US Patent:
6532092, Mar 11, 2003
Filed:
Dec 20, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/747616
Inventors:
Stephen Neushul - Redondo Beach CA, 90220
International Classification:
G02B 2608
US Classification:
359196, 358474, 358475, 358483
Abstract:
A method and apparatus to permit digital capture of images from both transmissive and reflective media. A laser or other source of excitation radiation is coupled to a mounting surface to be in optical communication with a reading window when installed on a scanner. A rear casing is coupled to the monitoring surface to engage a housing of a scanner, the housing defining the reading window.

Autofeeder For X-Ray Scanning

View page
US Patent:
7002714, Feb 21, 2006
Filed:
Nov 17, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/715676
Inventors:
Stephen Neushul - Torrance CA, US
International Classification:
H04N 1/04
US Classification:
358487, 358506, 355 72, 355 75, 378 34, 378 35, 310 10, 310 12
Abstract:
An autofeeder and media object digitization system. A receptacle for media objects is coupled to align a first wall with a clip to hold the media object. A suction device forming part of the first wall sucks a media object against a suction plate. The suction plate then moves the media object into engagement with the clip. The clip is driven to move the media object past a scanning window. A release lever or the clip is triggered to release the media object after it has passed the scanning window.

Glass Cassette For Scanning Imaging Plates

View page
US Patent:
7507974, Mar 24, 2009
Filed:
Mar 3, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/681772
Inventors:
Stephen Neushul - Redondo Beach CA, US
Assignee:
ICRCO, Inc. - Torrance CA
International Classification:
H05B 33/00
US Classification:
2504844
Abstract:
The invention provides a cassette enclosure having an energy translucent portion for supporting an imaging plate. The cassette is adapted for use with a computed radiography device wherein an image set forth on the imaging plate can be scanned without removing the plate from the cassette.

Combination Computed And Direct Radiography System And Method

View page
US Patent:
8378327, Feb 19, 2013
Filed:
Nov 26, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/304621
Inventors:
Stephen Neushul - Rancho Palos Verdes CA, US
Assignee:
iCRco, Inc. - Torrance CA
International Classification:
G03B 42/08
US Classification:
250585, 2504844
Abstract:
A scanning apparatus that can operate as both a computed and direct style radiography device. In the computed radiography mode, an internal imaging plate is removed or maintained inwardly within the housing assembly to allow a cassette handling mechanism holding a removable imaging plate to pass adjacent the scanning head. In the direct radiography mode, the cassette handling mechanism is retracted and the internal imaging plate is moved outward from the within the housing such that it is located adjacent the reading slot of the scan head assembly. In both modes of operation, the imaging plate being used is maintained adjacent the scan head while the scan head and imaging plate surface are moved relative to each other allowing the scanning and acquisition of the image data stored on the plate.

Computed Radiography X-Ray Cassette With Rigid Embedded Cr Plate

View page
US Patent:
20080245973, Oct 9, 2008
Filed:
May 9, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/118310
Inventors:
Stephen Neushul - Redondo Beach CA, US
International Classification:
G01J 1/58
H05B 33/00
US Classification:
2504851, 2504844
Abstract:
Embodiments include a method and apparatus for improving the reusability of a computed radiography (CR) plate by housing it in a cassette. The CR plate remains in the cassette during scanning. The embodiments of the method and apparatus improve the reusability of the CR plate.

Portable Radiography Imaging System

View page
US Patent:
20120183127, Jul 19, 2012
Filed:
Nov 24, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/304318
Inventors:
Stephen Neushul - Rancho Palos Verdes CA, US
International Classification:
A61B 6/04
US Classification:
378209
Abstract:
A portable radiographic imaging system allowing multiple X-rays to be taken from various exposure positions and perspectives without having to move or reposition the patient. The imaging system may include a direct radiography system providing immediate processing and availability of the X-ray images that allows for the immediate evaluation and diagnosis. The imaging system includes a diagnostic imaging table for supporting and positioning a patient. A radiography imaging system is coupled to the imaging table and can be positioned as desired depending on the desired position and perspective of the X-Rays so as to receive the X-rays. The radiography device processes the X-ray energy into images that can be displayed in an integral monitor to allow for the immediate triage and diagnosis of the patient or product.

Computed Tomography And Tomosynthesis System

View page
US Patent:
20120189094, Jul 26, 2012
Filed:
Nov 26, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/304617
Inventors:
Stephen Neushul - Rancho Palos Verdes CA, US
Matthew Changala - Huntington Beach CA, US
International Classification:
A61B 6/03
US Classification:
378 19
Abstract:
A computed tomography system, capable of tomosynthesis, includes an inner circular gantry and an outer gantry within a housing assembly. A plurality of spaced apart radiology imaging plates are located along the inner gantry and adapted as x-ray detectors. An x-ray source is secured to the outer gantry and adapted to shoot x-rays between the spaced apart detectors and onto the patient or object while being rotated along the gantry and relative to the patient. A radiography device is moveably coupled to the inner gantry and adapted to scan and read the radiology plates and provide the data to an image processing computer. The x-ray source coupled to the outer gantry moves relative to the imaging plates such that a large number of projections can be exposed and thereafter scanned by the integral radiology device.
