Abstract:
An electrical cord including a plug on a first end and at least one socket on a second end opposite the first end, a protective shutter assembly disposed within the at least one socket, the shutter assembly including a first and second shutter members positioned proximate the cover assembly and each of the first and second shutter members is at least partially aligned with separate cover openings in the cover assembly and being configured to move from a closed position to an open position in response to engaging at least one plug blade, a third shutter member positioned behind the first shutter member, a fourth shutter member positioned behind the second shutter member, and wherein the first and second shutter members pivot from the closed position to the open position and the third and fourth shutter members slide from the closed position to the open position.

Abstract:
A cover for electrical devices is disclosed. Particular implementations include an electrical device cover configured to mount over an electrical device includes a lid having a flexible membrane. The lid is coupled by a hinge to a base and the cover includes a cord port in an edge of a surface of the cover. The lid is configured to expand through the flexible membrane to an expanded position to accommodate an electrical connector coupled with the electrical device. The lid may also be configured to reduce in depth as the lid retracts from the expanded position to a refracted position through the flexible membrane.

A base for an electrical outlet having a front surface and a back surface, at least one opening extending there through, the at least one opening having a size large enough to receive a socket face, at least one mounting screw aperture opening extending through the base, the mounting screw aperture having a first portion sized large enough to receive a mounting screw head, and at least a second portion extending into the first portion and through the base, the second portion sized large enough to allow a mounting screw shaft to extend through the base but small enough to disallow the mounting screw head from passing through the base, at least one keyhole cover removably secured within the first portion, and wherein the base is configured with the second portion of the mounting screw aperture accessible after the base is installed on the electrical outlet.
