Abstract:
A system for removably and adjustably mounting a device on a surface is provided. The system for removably and adjustably mounting a device on a surface, according to the present invention, includes an apparatus and method useful for removably and adjustably mounting one or more photovoltaic modules on a surface such as a roof, and includes one or more dual track rails. Also included are at least one clamp configurable in at least two different constructions for securing the rails to a footing grid.

A cleat also is provided for attaching the system to a surface. A connector connects the rail to the cleat. The specification and drawing figures describe and show a mounting apparatus. The mounting apparatus includes a sleeve. The sleeve is formed with a plurality of spaced-apart substantially parallel slots. The sleeve is removably engageable with one end of a pole on which it is desired to mount one or more devices. Connectors are included that fit adjustably and removably into the plurality of spaced-apart substantially parallel slots. In addition, at least one bar is included. Each bar is formed with a plurality of apertures. The apertures permit variably positioning the bar on the connectors. A cap also is provided. The cap is connected to one end of the sleeve and engageable with one end of the pole. The mounting apparatus includes a variety of ways to secure the mounting apparatus to a pole.
