Methods Of Treating Local Soils To Make Them Oleophillic And Of Using The Soils To Minimize, Consolidate, And Clean Up Oily Spills

View page
US Patent:
52881776, Feb 22, 1994
Filed:
Oct 21, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/964561
Inventors:
Richard H. Montgomery - Midland MI
Ramon E. Bisque - Golden CO
John W. Ryan - Midland MI
International Classification:
E02B 1504
US Classification:
405264
Abstract:
Various silicone materials, which have a low order of toxicity to fish, birds, and wildlife; and which slowly degrade to carbon dioxide and silicon dioxide in the environment, may be used to treat local soils to make them permanently oleophillic. These soils can then be used to minimize, consolidate, and clean up oily spills. Because local soils are used and only minor amounts of chemicals are required, the cost of cleanup is drastically lowered while response time is much quicker.

Composition Apparatus And Method For Flue Gas Conditioning

View page
US Patent:
62678027, Jul 31, 2001
Filed:
Jun 17, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/335428
Inventors:
Kenneth Eugene Baldrey - Denver CO
Ramon Edward Bisque - Golden CO
Michael Dean Durham - Castle Rock CO
Douglas W. Jackson - Lakewood CO
Assignee:
ADA Environmental Solutions, LLC - Littleton CO
International Classification:
B03C 3013
US Classification:
95 58
Abstract:
The method and apparatus of the present invention are directed to conditioning particulate-containing gas streams using novel additives. The additive is an organometallic salt, preferably of a carboxylic acid, that decomposes in the gas stream to produce mobile metal compounds that significantly reduce the resistivity of the particles. The additive is particularly effective under hot-side conditions when used to condition particles to be collected by an electrostatic precipitator.
