G09G 5/36
US Classification:
345211, 345503, 345545
Abstract:
Techniques are described to monitor a level of graphics processing activity and control power usage based on the level. When no graphics processing activity is detected for a period of time, then a timing controller for a display device is instructed to capture a current image and repeatedly display the captured image. The graphics processing devices can be powered down. When graphics processing activity is detected, the graphics processing devices are powered up and the components used to capture an image and display the captured image are powered down.

US Patent:
20120209614, Aug 16, 2012
Filed:
Feb 10, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/024536
Inventors:
Nikos Kaburlasos - Lincoln CA, US
Scott W. Cheng - Folsom CA, US
Hong Jiang - El Dorado Hills CA, US
Michael D. Stoner - Folsom CA, US
Narayan Biswal - Folsom CA, US
International Classification:
H04B 1/66
US Classification:
704500
Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed that involve the processing of audio streams. For instance, a host processing platform may receive a content stream that includes an encoded audio stream. In turn, a graphics engine produces from it a decoded audio stream. This producing may involve the graphics engine performing various operations, such as an entropy decoding operation, an inverse quantization operation, and an inverse discrete cosine transform operation. In embodiments, the content stream may further include an encoded video stream. Thus the graphics engine may produce from it a decoded video stream. This audio and video decoding may be performed in parallel.

Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses and methods may include a source device that generates a scene change notification in response to a movement of a camera, modifies an encoding scheme associated with the video content captured by the camera in response to the scene change notification, identifies a full-frame difference threshold, wherein scene analysis information includes frame difference data, and compares the frame difference data to an intermediate threshold that is less than the full-frame difference threshold, wherein the scene change notification is generated when the frame difference data exceeds the intermediate threshold. A sink device may obtain transport quality data associated with video content, modify an output parameter of a display based on the transport quality data, determine a view perspective of a still image containing a plurality of image slices, retrieve only a subset of the plurality of image slices based on the view perspective and decode the retrieved subset.
