Speaker-Integration System For An Electronic Device, And Associated Devices And Systems

View page
US Patent:
20220232304, Jul 21, 2022
Filed:
Jan 20, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/580530
Inventors:
- Mountain View CA, US
Gordon Robert Dix - Newark CA, US
Luis Chau - Concord CA, US
William Raeming Dong - Redwood City CA, US
Laurie Man Sum Kwan - San Francisco CA, US
Assignee:
Google LLC - Mountain View CA
International Classification:
H04R 1/02
Abstract:
This document describes a speaker-integration system and associated devices and systems. The speaker-integration system includes a speaker that is re-workably mounted, via an elastomeric gasket, to an intermediate structure that is mountable to an outer enclosure of an electronic device. The intermediate structure forms a cavity in which the speaker is sealed, effective to use the cavity as the speaker's back volume to contain acoustic waves without impacting other structures in the electronic device. The front of the speaker is sealed against the outer enclosure by a gasket that controls, based on its placement and geometry, axial and radial directions of the speaker relative to the intermediate structure to prevent the speaker from buzzing against surrounding rigid parts. The speaker has wires that exit the back volume via a detachable grommet, which controls positioning of the wires to prevent rub and buzz against surrounding parts.

This application is directed to a surveillance camera system including a magnet mount for physically receiving a camera module. The camera module includes a housing having an exterior surface of a first shape. A surface of the magnet mount has a second shape that is substantially concave and complementary to the first shape, and is configured to engage the exterior surface of the housing of the camera module. A magnetic material is disposed inside the magnet mount and configured to magnetically couple to a magnetic material of the camera module. A friction pad is embedded on the surface of the magnet mount, has a substantially concave shape and protrudes beyond the second surface. The friction pad is configured to come into contact with the exterior surface of the housing of the camera module at least via a peripheral edge of the substantially concave friction pad.
