Assignee:
Apple Inc. - Cupertino CA
International Classification:
G05G 1/02
B23P 11/00
US Classification:
74491, 29428
Abstract:
A shim sleeve for pivot buttons is described herein. One embodiment may take the form of button assembly with a stem and a receiving portion pivotally coupled to the stem. The stem is positioned within an aperture of the receiving portion, with the aperture providing a gap between the receiving portion and the stem. A shim sleeve having non-uniform thickness is coupled over the stem and positioned between the receiving portion and the stem. The shim sleeve is configured to reduce the gap between the receiving portion and the stem.

International Classification:
H04N 5/225
US Classification:
348373, 348E05026
Abstract:
An electronic device may have a housing such as a metal housing. Openings may be formed in the housing to accommodate a button, to form a camera window, to form a microphone port, and to form a camera flash window. An input-output component mounting member may be used to mount input-output components to the housing of the electronic device. The input-output component mounting member may have a recess that mates with a corresponding protrusion on the housing. Screws may attach the input-output component mounting member to the housing. The protrusion and recess in the input-output component mounting member may ensure that the input-output component mounting member is accurately aligned with respect to the housing. Input-output components such as a microphone, button switch, camera, and camera flash may be mounted to the electronic device with the input-output component mounting member.

Low Z-Fold Battery Seal

US Patent:
20140065474, Mar 6, 2014
Filed:
Aug 30, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/599377
Inventors:
Christopher M. Werner - San Jose CA, US
Tyson B. Manullang - Sunnyvale CA, US
Gregory N. Stephens - Sunnyvale CA, US
Assignee:
Apple Inc. - Cupertino CA
International Classification:
H01M 2/08
US Classification:
429185, 156221
Abstract:
A portable electronic device comprises an electromechanical module having an actuator for positioning a mechanical element between first and second positions, and a controller coupled to the electromechanical module. The controller is configured to detect a mechanical event coupling to the electromechanical module, select an actuation signal to position the mechanical element in a safe position between the first and second positions, and transmit the selected signal, such that the mechanical element is positioned in the safe position during the event.

Accessory Attachment Mechanisms For An Electronic Device

US Patent:
20140068919, Mar 13, 2014
Filed:
Sep 7, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/607635
Inventors:
Trent WEBER - San Francisco CA, US
Stephen B. Lynch - Portola Valley CA, US
Emery A. Sanford - San Francisco CA, US
Tyson B. Manullang - Sunnyvale CA, US
David G. Havskjold - Sunnyvale CA, US
Assignee:
Apple Inc. - Cupertino CA
International Classification:
H05K 5/02
B23P 11/00
US Classification:
2952501, 403327
Abstract:
Attachment mechanisms that may be employed to attach accessory devices to electronic devices are provided. The attachment mechanism may include a displaceable post that is moveable between deployed and stored configurations. In the deployed configuration an accessory may be attached to the displaceable post, whereas in the stored configuration the displaceable post may be at least partially inaccessible. Movement of the displaceable post may be controlled by cam surfaces, a spring, and a follower. The spring may be conical and configured to fold flat to reduce the height of the attachment mechanism.
