Lonne F. Katz - Parsippany NJ, US
Christopher W. Lea - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/56
US Classification:
370389
Abstract:
A method for facilitating substantially simultaneous receipt of content included in at least one document by a plurality of intended recipients is disclosed. At least one portion of impactful content is delimited in the at least one document to define at least one impactful block (IBlock). A remaining portion of content is delimited to define at least one non-impactful block (NIBlock). The least one IBlock is transmitted to be received substantially simultaneously by the plurality of intended recipients.

Method For Selecting A Subset Of Content Sources From A Collection Of Content Sources

View page
US Patent:
20120259846, Oct 11, 2012
Filed:
Mar 29, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/434312
Inventors:
Lawrence C. Rafsky - Livingston NJ, US
Thomas B. Donchez - Bethlehem PA, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
G06F 15/16
US Classification:
707723, 707E17014
Abstract:
A method for selecting a subset of content sources from a collection of content sources is disclosed. A server retrieves, in response to a plurality of queries on a topic from a client, using a programmed computer, a plurality of sets of documents from the collection of content sources. The server enumerates all subsets of the plurality of sets of documents. The server calculates, for each subset, a count of effectiveness of a subset and a price of the subset. The server selects a subset having the highest calculated ratio of count of effectiveness of the subset to price of the subset. The server delivers the selected subset of the plurality of sets of documents to the client.

Method And System For Pacing, Acking, Timing, And Handicapping (Path) For Simultaneous Receipt Of Documents Employing Encryption

View page
US Patent:
20120281840, Nov 8, 2012
Filed:
May 4, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/464211
Inventors:
Lawrence C. Rafsky - Livingston NJ, US
Robert E. Ungar - Randolph NJ, US
Thomas B. Donchez - Bethlehem PA, US
International Classification:
H04L 9/08
US Classification:
380279
Abstract:
A method of facilitating substantially simultaneous receipt of electronic content by a plurality of intended recipients is disclosed. The electronic content is encrypted. The encrypted electronic content is transmitted to the plurality of intended recipients. An acknowledgement packet is received from each of the plurality of intended recipients within a predetermined timeout period. A handicap time is calculated for transmitting a decryption key to each of the intended recipient based on a time associated with the acknowledgement packet last received. Decryption keys are transmitted to the plurality of intended recipients using a delay based on the handicap time, where a decryption key having a smaller handicap time is transmitted prior to a decryption key having a larger handicap time.

Method For Automated Trading Based On Information In A Press Release

View page
US Patent:
20130073443, Mar 21, 2013
Filed:
Sep 19, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/622803
Inventors:
Lawrence C. Rafsky - Livingston NJ, US
Stephen W. Leahy - Miami Beach FL, US
Robert E. Ungar - Randolph NJ, US
Thomas B. Donchez - Bethlehem PA, US
Lonne F. Katz - Parsippany NJ, US
Nigel Thornton Clark - Princeton NJ, US
Marek Samulka - Hackensack NJ, US
Zhi X. Chen - Livingston NJ, US
Mark J. Testa - Spotswood NJ, US
Christopher W. Lee - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
G06Q 40/04
US Classification:
705 37
Abstract:
A method for automated trading based on information in a press release is disclosed. A programmed computer receives a press release from a wire service. The programmed computer scans each word of the press release sequentially. The programmed computer employs a scanned word as an index into a pre-processed table of reduced-encoded, negative sentiment and positive sentiment words, where sentiment is measured on a log-scale. The programmed computer fetches a word from the table based on the index. The programmed computer renders at least one trading decision based on the fetched word. The programmed computer delivers the at least one trading decision to at least one trading system.

A computing device determines impactful content in transmittable content. The computing device assigns the impactful content in the transmittable content to one or more impactful block units. Each impactful block unit comprises a determined numbers of characters. The computing device extracts the one or more impactful block units from the transmittable content. The computing device places the one or more impactful block units at the end of the transmittable content. The computing device transmits the transmittable content to a plurality of intended recipients. Each character, or a small packet set of sequential characters, of the determined number of characters of the one or more impactful block units is transmitted using a time delay for a particular intended recipient and a pacing method.
