She is a former Wisconsin Truman Scholar, Two Time Guardian of Small Business Award Recipient, Scales of Justice Award Recipient by the State Bar of Wisconsin, Eisenberg Award Winner by the State Public Defender's Office, and recognized as one of three top award winners by the United States Small Business Administration in Washington D.C. McCormick is also recognized as the founder and writer of the first charter school laws in the state of Wisconsin and leader in education reform in the United States.
