Method For Manufacturing Filter Canisters And Tracking Quality Assurance

View page
US Patent:
7320205, Jan 22, 2008
Filed:
Feb 2, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/049073
Inventors:
Peter J. Cooper - North Potomac MD, US
Stephen Kubicsko - Westminster MD, US
Greg A. Tilley - Monkton MD, US
Assignee:
TVI Corporation - Glenn Dale MD
International Classification:
B65B 7/28
B65B 51/22
US Classification:
53476, 2281101, 55DIG 5
Abstract:
An assembly line for manufacturing filter canisters is disclosed. The method for assembling filter canisters provides a unique serial number for each canister and a database that associates the component lot numbers, activated charcoal weight, and quality assurance test results with the serial number for the filter canister. The manufacturing method can be adapted for assembly of canisters with activated charcoal and an aerosol HEPA filter, canisters with activated charcoal only, and canisters with an aerosol HEPA filter only. Some embodiments can also enable different testing conditions and specifications, activated charcoal loading requirements, labeling specifications, and packaging requirements.

Collapsible Patient Isolation Pod

View page
US Patent:
7503890, Mar 17, 2009
Filed:
Jun 13, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/452189
Inventors:
Stephen Kubicsko - Westminster MD, US
Peter J. Cooper - North Potomac MD, US
John Buchanan - University Place WA, US
Assignee:
TVi Corporation - Glenn Dale MD
International Classification:
A61G 10/00
US Classification:
600 21
Abstract:
A collapsible patient isolation pod for preventing flow of contaminants to or from a patient is disclosed. The isolation pod is preferably fabricated at least partially from a transparent, biochemically resistive material and includes a flexible enclosure that is configurable to receive a contaminated patient therein. The top is maintained spaced apart from the bottom such that the top is maintained out of physical contact with a contaminated patient received in the enclosure. The isolation pod has a plurality of wide, gloved access points to allow easy, multiple access points to a patient. A central connection manifold for oxygen, intravenous connections, or other fluids, may optionally be provided. Ventilation is provided within the isolation chamber with a negative pressure ventilation system and filtration on the air input near the patient's head, and provides filtration on output near the patient's feet. An integral pocket underneath the isolation pod may be provided to allow for a spine board or stretcher to be used.

Apparatus And A Method For Detecting Alarm Molecules In An Air Sample

View page
US Patent:
55548466, Sep 10, 1996
Filed:
Jul 31, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/509387
Inventors:
Kenneth B. Regiec - Baltimore MD
Peter C. Stroosnyder - Finksburg MD
Stephen D. Kubicsko - Westminster MD
Charles H. Ward - Edgewood MD
Assignee:
Environmental Technologies Group, Inc. - Baltimore MD
International Classification:
H01J 4904
US Classification:
250288
Abstract:
In an apparatus for detecting alarm molecules, residual alarm molecules are automatically removed during a clear-down mode before a subsequent air sample is to be introduced. The apparatus comprises a detector unit, a sensor unit and a filtering sub-unit including a pump and a filter. During a challenge, the pump in the sub-unit is turned off, and the air sample passes from the inlet port of the first unit through the second unit to the output port of the first unit, thereby depositing alarm molecules in the first unit and the second unit. During the clear-down mode, the pump in the sub-unit is turned on, and outside air enters through the output port of the first unit, mixes with air flow from the output of the second unit, and passes through the sub-unit. Filtered air from the sub-unit exhausts the first unit through the inlet port of the first unit and passes into the second unit, thereby cleaning the first unit and the second unit from the alarm molecules deposited therein during the challenge mode.
