Adaptive Exposure Printing And Printing System

View page
US Patent:
8493623, Jul 23, 2013
Filed:
Oct 12, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/577233
Inventors:
Chung-Hui Kuo - Fairport NY, US
Hwai-Tzuu Tai - Rochester NY, US
Stacy M. Munechika - Fairport NY, US
Cumar Sreekumar - Penfield NY, US
Eric K. Zeise - Pittsford NY, US
Stephen J. Farnand - Fairport NY, US
Thomas A. Henderson - Rochester NY, US
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
H04N 1/40
US Classification:
358 301, 358 19, 358518, 358 11, 347249, 726 20
Abstract:
One or more printers or printing systems are connected to a scanning device. Each printer includes one or more color modules that are used during a printing operation. A printer prints a target for each color module or color channel. The printed targets are then scanned by the scanning device. The printed targets may be rotated to any angle and then scanned by the scanning device. The scanned raster data is processed by a controller to detect non-uniformities in at least one density image and to generate one or more correction profiles for the printer. When an image is to be printed, one or more controllers receive the image data and use the one or more correction profiles to correct or compensate for the non-uniformities during the exposure process.

Electrophotographic Printing With Compensation

View page
US Patent:
20120269527, Oct 25, 2012
Filed:
Oct 10, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/269662
Inventors:
CHUNG-HUI KUO - Fairport NY, US
Stephen J. Farnand - Fairport NY, US
Shawn Edward O'Hara - Rochester NY, US
Stacy M. Munechika - Fairport NY, US
International Classification:
G03G 15/00
US Classification:
399 49, 399 72
Abstract:
Electrophotographic (EP) streaking compensation is performed. A tonescale is measured for each column and a per-column gain computed to compensate for variations. An adjustment tonescale is determined and a per-column adjustment-tonescale gain computed to correct for remaining error after the per-column gain is applied. The two corrections are used together to provide improved compensation quality.

Mount For Linear Lens Array

View page
US Patent:
52747328, Dec 28, 1993
Filed:
Jan 6, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/817164
Inventors:
Stephen J. Farnand - Rochester NY
Yee S. Ng - Fairport NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G02B 632
US Classification:
385136
Abstract:
An optical assembly for an LED printhead includes a longitudinally extending linear lens array. A stiffener bar is attached to the lens array along a substantial longitudinal dimension of the lens array. A lens mount base plate supports the stiffener bar and a pin and slot connection is provided for permitting thermally induced dimensional change in two dimensions of the stiffener bar relative to the lens mount base plate.
