Automated Syringe Filler And Loading Apparatus

View page
US Patent:
8286671, Oct 16, 2012
Filed:
Mar 23, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/069745
Inventors:
Saverio Roberto Strangis - Pearland TX, US
International Classification:
B65B 3/04
US Classification:
141 9, 141 27, 141104, 141144, 141145, 141270, 141281, 604416
Abstract:
The disclosure pertains to an automated apparatus for filling capped needle syringes. The syringes are held in a rotatable motor controlled carousel. The carousel turns to place a syringe proximate to a dispenser mechanism. A rotatable plate on top of the dispenser mechanism holds an automated cap extractor/installer and at least one inverted vial having a needle perforatable surface. The rotatable plate can also move up and down relative to the top of the dispenser mechanism. The cap can be removed by the automated cap extractor/installer and the rotatable plate rotated to place the inverted vial over the exposed syringe needle. The rotatable plate can descend so that the needle perforates the surface of the vial. A syringe plunger tool of the dispenser mechanism engages the syringe plunger and pulls it downward. The syringe plunger tool can disengage and return to its original position.

US Patent:
20060062342, Mar 23, 2006
Filed:
Sep 17, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/943283
Inventors:
Carlos Gonzalez Lepera - Houston TX, US
Saverio Strangis - Pearland TX, US
International Classification:
G21G 1/10
US Classification:
376195000
Abstract:
A target system includes a beam path for receiving a particle beam and a target chamber for housing a sample material. A target foil is operable for holding the sample material in the target chamber. A pressure cell is formed along a portion of the beam path between the target foil and a pressure foil. When irradiating the sample material with the particle beam, the pressure inside the target chamber and the pressure cell is increased and maintained at substantially the same pressure. A method includes inserting a sample material into a target chamber of a target system. The target system includes a pressure cell formed along a portion of a beam path between a pressure foil and a target foil, adjacent the target chamber. The pressure cell and the target chamber are pressurized and maintained at substantially the same pressure. The sample material is irradiated to produce a radioisotope.

US Patent:
20120324839, Dec 27, 2012
Filed:
Sep 10, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/607827
Inventors:
Saverio Roberto Strangis - Pearland TX, US
International Classification:
B65B 43/26
B65B 7/28
US Classification:
53492, 53287, 533811
Abstract:
An automated cap extractor/installer is disclosed comprising a cap access space, a rack and modified pinion, a solenoid actuator and a position sensor. The modified pinion has a flat surface with two edges and the flat surface can be positioned proximate to the cap access space. The modified pinion is in communication with a rack component communicating with a solenoid actuator causing the pinion to rotate. When a capped syringe is positioned in the cap access space, a signal can be sent by the position sensor to the solenoid actuator. The solenoid actuator moves, causing the pinion to rotate and grip the syringe cap. The solenoid actuator and components can be moved vertically and thereby pulling the cap off the syringe. A rotating cam device can be substituted for the modified pinion. The process can be reversed to install the cap on a syringe.

US Patent:
20120325365, Dec 27, 2012
Filed:
Sep 10, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/607834
Inventors:
Saverio Roberto Strangis - Pearland TX, US
International Classification:
B65B 3/12
US Classification:
141 2, 141 18, 141 21
Abstract:
An automated method for the filling of syringes including the steps of holding an uncapped syringe in a vertical position with an exposed needle extending at the top. A horizontally rotatable plate holding inverted vials of liquid with needle perforatable septum is position above the needle. The motorized plate with the positioned vial descends on the needle perforating the septum. The syringe plunger can be lowered using a motorized plunger tool and drawing liquid into the syringe. The vial and plate can be elevated separating the needle from the septum. The plate can be optionally rotated to position a second vial above the needle. The needle, now filled with liquid, e.g., medicine can also be removed from the holder. The method can be combined with a cap extractor/installer component. The apparatus comprises a motor driven rotatable plate, a motorized syringe plunger tool. It can comprise a motor controlled rotating carousel.

Inventors:
Saverio Roberto Strangis - Pearland TX, US
International Classification:
B65B 3/04
US Classification:
141 18
Abstract:
An automated syringe filler is disclosed comprising a housing and motor with a rotatable syringe holder plate that can be raised and lowered onto exposed syringe needles. The housing also has components for one or more syringes to be attached with the needles pointing upward and the syringe plungers moveably positioned at the bottom. The syringe plunger tool controls the movement of the syringe plunger and can be horizontally and vertically positionable. The syringe plunger tool is motorized and can be controlled by a CPU or similar device containing programmable media.

Method And Apparatus For Production Of Radiometals And Other Radioisotopes Using A Particle Accelerator

US Patent:
20220254537, Aug 11, 2022
Filed:
Apr 25, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/660621
Inventors:
Saverio Roberto Strangis - Pearland TX, US
International Classification:
G21K 5/08
H05H 6/00
G21G 1/10
Abstract:
An irradiation target positioning device and method for creating radioisotopes utilizing linear particle beam accelerators or cyclotron accelerators is disclosed. The device positions a target proximate to a liquid reservoir and vapor expansion chamber. The target may be in a solid phase. Heat produced within the target during irradiation can be absorbed by the liquid. The liquid may be heated to its vaporization temperature and vapor emitted into the vapor chamber. The vapor chamber may utilize a cooling mechanism, for allowing the vapor to condense (second phase change). A radioactive product may diffuse into the liquid, thereby allowing the irradiated product to be conveyed out of the target structure in a liquid, solution, or slurry. Multiple radioisotopes may be produced simultaneously out of the target material and liquid and separated later. The target material and the irradiated product may be removed from the target surface by acid.
