Abstract:
A lyre mounting bracket (14) is provided for acoustically coupling a musical instrument tuner (12) to a lyre (16) for a musical instrument (10). The tuner (12) includes an electronics section (26) having a vibratory sensor. A hinged elbow member (44) secures the mounting bracket (14) to the tuner (12). The mounting bracket (14) has a main body (42) which includes two oppositely facing, planar surfaces (50, 52) for securing directly between a clamp (20) of the lyre (16). Support braces (58, 60) extend outward from opposite sides of the main body (42), each having arcuately shaped sides (66-76) which extend orthogonal to and adjacent to the peripheral edges of respective ones of the planer mounting surfaces (50, 52). The sides (66-76) have profiles which fit substantially flush with portions of a profile (94) defined by the peripheral edges of a first half (90) of the lyre clamp (20). The first half (90) of the lyre clamp (20) includes two lobes (96, 98) which fit substantially flush against mounting ears (54, 56) defined by the main body (42) of the mounting bracket (14).

Rythmic Motor Skills Training Device

View page
US Patent:
20160098940, Apr 7, 2016
Filed:
Oct 1, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/503834
Inventors:
Gerald Rogers - Dallas TX, US
Agustin J. Membreno - Plano TX, US
Assignee:
Dextar, Inc. - Carrollton TX
International Classification:
G09B 15/00
Abstract:
A computerized system and method for music practice and training to assist a musician to improve their skills in maintaining a tempo and to improve ear-hand coordination, eye-hand coordination and other motor skills while learning to play an instrument. The system receives user defined beats per minute (BPM), rhythms or short segments of a music piece and generates audio reference outputs and visual display of music notes as stimuli. The user responses to these stimuli are measured in time and in the force and intensity of the responses and provided as feedback to the user to improve their response time and intensity to stimuli and assists the user in modifying the responses to the output stimuli to reduce the time between the output stimuli and the user response and thus improve the user's timing accuracy while playing music.
