Protective Cap For The Top Of Metal Fence Posts

View page
US Patent:
6543750, Apr 8, 2003
Filed:
Nov 13, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/007241
Inventors:
Ronald J. Calzone - Dixon MO, 65459
International Classification:
E04H 1410
US Classification:
256 1, 256 19
Abstract:
A protective cover is provided that lessens the potential for injury to people or livestock from the sharp edges of steel T-posts typically used in fencing. It has a T-shaped cross-section configuration approximating the shape of a fence post, and has a longitudinal channel for receiving one or more of the projecting studs on the front of the fence post. The instant invention is economical to produce, easy to install and flexible in application in order to accommodate a large range of T-post sizes. Installed on a fence post, it provides a blunt, soft buffer between the sharp edge of the post and any animal that comes in contact with the end.

Manipulator For Automatic Screwdriver

View page
US Patent:
7249538, Jul 31, 2007
Filed:
Aug 16, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/204485
Inventors:
Ronald John Calzone - Dixon MO, US
International Classification:
B25B 23/06
B25B 21/00
US Classification:
81 574, 81 5741
Abstract:
The instant invention relates to the manufacture and/or repair of trailer and truck decks or similar. In particular, the invention relates to the installation of self tapping screws into pre-drilled holes or the installation of self drilling, self tapping screws where no hole yet exists. The machine has a cross beam with rails for a wheeled carriage which supports a linear actuator for an automatic screwdriver or, in another variation, a screw driving machine with an integral linear actuator. This wheeled carriage facilitates the movement of the screwdriver in a straight line in the X direction, laterally, across the deck, while wheeled trucks on the cross beam allow it, along with the carriage, to be moved in the Y direction, longitudinally, down the length of the deck. The actuator moves the screwdriver axially (Z direction) with each installation of a screw. Said movement is facilitated by a linear actuating device, such as a pneumatic cylinder.

Trailer Drilling Machine

US Patent:
47657855, Aug 23, 1988
Filed:
Aug 12, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/084922
Inventors:
Ronald J. Calzone - Dixon MO
International Classification:
B23B 4514
US Classification:
408109
Abstract:
A machine for drilling holes in the deck of a flat bed or other type trailer. The machine has a cross beam and rails for a wheeled carriage supporting a drill press for drilling holes in the deck in an X-direction across the deck. The cross beam and rails are carried upon wheeled trucks which are moveable longitudinally along the length of the deck in a Y-direction. The counteract thrust and to anchor the machine, adjustable clamps are provided at opposite ends of the cross beam which bear against the underside or other suitable fastening point of the trailer. The cross beam ties the machine together in providing support for the wheeled carriage, the rails, wheeled trucks and the clamps to provide a rugged and easily maneuverable machine for moving a drill press in any desired X-Y direction.

Clamp For Securing Trailer Ramp In Transport Position

View page
US Patent:
54622492, Oct 31, 1995
Filed:
Jan 25, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/186675
Inventors:
Ronald J. Calzone - Dixon MO
International Classification:
E01D 100
US Classification:
2483167
Abstract:
A pivotable clamp for securing a trailer ramp in a stowed position on the surface of a dovetail-type trailer is provided. The trailer and ramp on which the clamp is used are of the type having a surface constructed of spaced apart cross-pieces. The clamp is comprised of an arm member and a pivot bar member. The arm member features a handled shaft member with a claw member at its end for engaging the edge of a crosspiece of the trailer surface. The arm member is rotatably received within a strap member of the pivot bar member. A spring and a tightening nut with handles are mounted on the shaft member for varying the degree of tightness with which the claw member engages the crosspiece. The pivot bar member allows the clamp to be swung in and out of position.

Reverse Spring Assist For Trailer Ramps

View page
US Patent:
51453100, Sep 8, 1992
Filed:
May 6, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/695948
Inventors:
Ronald J. Calzone - Dixon MO
International Classification:
B65G 6928
US Classification:
414537
Abstract:
A spring system for assisting the maneuvering of trailer ramps from a transport position into a loading position is provided. The invention is comprised of a spring mounted concentrically around a shaft about which a ramp pivots. When the ramp is in the transport position at rest on the back of the trailer, it engages and is biased against an end of the spring. The spring exerts force against the ramp thus reducing its effective weight which enables the operator to pivot the ramp into loading position with a minimum of physical effort. An arcuate tab having a plurality of holes is positioned concentrically around the pivot shaft. The holes receive a retaining pin under which an end of the spring is braced as the ramp engages the other end of the spring. By changing the location of the pin among the holes, the degree of stress imparted to the spring may be selectively varied.
