Fishing Rod Holder With Automatic Pull

View page
US Patent:
7975426, Jul 12, 2011
Filed:
Oct 20, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/254161
Inventors:
Pedro Cabrera - Hialeah FL, US
Gustavo Rivero - Hialeah FL, US
International Classification:
A01K 97/10
A01K 97/11
US Classification:
43 212, 43 15
Abstract:
A fishing rod holder with automatic pull that operates unattended and automatically pulls when a force of predetermined magnitude is applied to the line. The holder includes a housing where an assembly for removably holding a fishing rod is pivotally mounted and movable between two extreme positions. The housing includes a stopper member cooperatively mounted outwardly to coact with the locking mechanism. A spring assembly biases the holder assembly towards the rearmost extreme position and a locking assembly for releasably holding the rod holder keeps the latter at the foremost extreme position. A trigger sensing the tension of the fishing line is automatically actuated by exceeding a predetermined tension magnitude causing it to pivot and transmit a rotational movement to an elongated member. The other end of the elongated member includes a spring biased retractable chamfered pin. The pin has a slanted termination and a flat termination.

Stabilizing Mechanism For Rigid Fixed And Extension Ladders

View page
US Patent:
20090242328, Oct 1, 2009
Filed:
Jun 23, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/144444
Inventors:
Pedro Cabrera - Miami FL, US
Jose A. Suarez - Miami FL, US
Ruben Guinovart - Miami FL, US
International Classification:
E06C 7/06
US Classification:
182111
Abstract:
A stabilizing mechanism for rigid fixed and extension ladders that includes an anchorage assembly removably mounted to one of the rungs of a ladder. A linkage assembly is mounted to the anchorage assembly and it supports a rigid elongated member that in turn pivotally supports two arched arm members that are selectively locked in place by a locking assembly that can be remotely actuated. The arm members embrace a support member thereby providing a firm engagement of the ladder assembly to the support member. A release mechanism remotely disengages the ladder from the support member once a user descends.

Liquid Sampling Valve

View page
US Patent:
47028890, Oct 27, 1987
Filed:
Jan 16, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/819381
Inventors:
Pedro P. Cabrera - Miami FL
Humberto A. Berra - Carol City FL
Edward N. Doty - Pompano Beach FL
Assignee:
Coulter Electronics Inc. - Hialeah FL
International Classification:
G01N 120
F16K 2102
F16K 2300
US Classification:
422103
Abstract:
A liquid diluting and transfer valve has disc like valve elements provided with faces frictionally engaged. The valve further includes passageways for passing both sample liquid and rinse liquid and a continuous groove formed in one of the respective faces. This continuous groove effectively isolates the passageway openings to the faces and is capable of blocking passage of leakage material along the face to the periphery of the engaged face.

Method And Apparatus For Regulating The Size And Frequency Of Bubbles Employed For Mixing Liquids

View page
US Patent:
41369700, Jan 30, 1979
Filed:
Dec 15, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/860674
Inventors:
Pedro P. Cabrera - Miami FL
Robert T. Duncan - Miami FL
Assignee:
Coulter Electronics, Inc. - Hialeah FL
International Classification:
B01F 1302
US Classification:
366101
Abstract:
A few large, fast rising gas bubbles are generated near the bottom of a sample container and the upward movement of the bubbles causes a mixing action of the sample. The bubbles result from the periodic injection of discrete quantums of gas into the bottom of the container. The volume of a discrete gas quantum determines the size of a resulting bubble. Both the volume and frequency of generation of the quantums of gas are controlled by a timing circuit which operates a solenoid valve that permits each discrete quantum of gas to pass into the sample container.

Liquid Sample/Reagent Metering And Delivery Method

View page
US Patent:
52555682, Oct 26, 1993
Filed:
Oct 22, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/965095
Inventors:
Roberto del Valle - Miami FL
Santos E. Vargas - Hialeah FL
Pedro P. Cabrera - Miami FL
Assignee:
Coulter Corporation - Miami FL
International Classification:
G01N 110
G01N 120
US Classification:
7386373
Abstract:
A method for sampling, metering and delivering precise microliter volume aliquots of a liquid blood sample to mixing and testing means of an electronic blood analysis system for analysis using a sampling and metering valve assembly in which is defined plural through fluid flow paths, one of the flow paths including a loop for metering and isolating a sample aliquot therein, the method comprising the steps of defining first and second dedicated passages within the valve assembly displaced one from the other and from the loop containing the isolated aliquot, introducing an inert gas to the loop to force the aliquot therein to said first dedicated passage at the displaced location thereof, placing the first and second dedicated passages in communicating relationship and introducing lyse reagent to the second dedicated passage to force the isolated aliquot from the first dedicated passage with the lyse reagent to a location exterior of the valve assembly without contaminating any flow paths which has been traversed by the liquid sample or a fluid other than the lyse reagent.

Liquid Metering And Transfer Valve Assembly

View page
US Patent:
45079773, Apr 2, 1985
Filed:
Jun 9, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/502672
Inventors:
Pedro P. Cabrera - Miami FL
Assignee:
Coulter Electronics, Inc. - Hialeah FL
International Classification:
B01L 302
US Classification:
7386412
Abstract:
A liquid diluting valve assembly for delivering a pair of different sample volumes in the microliter range along with a predetermined volume of diluent to different locations. The valve assembly includes a pair of outer discs and an inner disc sandwiched therebetween, the facing surface portions being sealingly frictionally engaged. The discs have central axial passages aligned to accommodate a spindle the inner disc being independently movable relative to the other discs. The discs carry passageways with at least one segmenting passageway provided in the inner disc. One of the outer discs is stationary and carries an external hollow loop having a precise volume in the microliter range. The other outer disc carries a single outwardly extending aspirator probe for introduction of a liquid sample from an exterior sample source, the probe being coupled in series with the external hollow loop. After a continuous stream of sample is disposed through the serially connected segmenting passageway and loop, the inner member is rotated to place the content of the segmenting passageway in communication with an exterior source of diluent and a passage leading to the exterior of the valve assembly for delivery of the resulting dilution to a selected location.

Liquid Metering And Transfer Valve Assembly

US Patent:
48965464, Jan 30, 1990
Filed:
Jan 11, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/296905
Inventors:
Pedro P. Cabrera - Miami FL
Daniel A. Estoque - Miami FL
Assignee:
Coulter Electronics, Inc.
International Classification:
G01N 100
US Classification:
7386373
Abstract:
A rotary liquid metering and transfer valve assembly for a diluting system which includes a pair of stationary valve disc elements sandwiching a central, rotatable valve disc element, said disc elements being coaxially aligned and mounted on a spindle. One of the outer stationary elements has a first external loop secured thereto, said loop having a precise interior volume. An aspirator probe is secured to the other of said stationary elements. The central element has formed therein an axial segmenting passageway having a precise interior volume. A second external loop is secured to the center element. The second loop extends outwardly, preferably radially, of said element and has a precise interior volume. Appropriate interior passageways are provided in the outer elements for directing a liquid sample in a continuous path through the valve assembly, the path including the one segmenting passageway and the first and the second external loops. Additional interior passageways also are provided for coupling the valve assembly to sources of diluent and to exterior destinations.
