Tambourine Display/Protective Case

View page
US Patent:
7665604, Feb 23, 2010
Filed:
Mar 22, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/689922
Inventors:
Richard L. Taninbaum - Mamaroneck NY, US
Assignee:
Rhytm Tech, Inc. - New Rochelle NY
International Classification:
A45C 11/00
US Classification:
206314
Abstract:
A protective case for a product, such as a tambourine, having a predetermined configuration includes a clam shell housing generally configured to conform to the shape of the product. The housing is dimensioned to receive the product with clearance. The clam shell housing is formed of two clam shell members that are hinged to each other so that the clam shell members may be separated to allow the product to be inserted into or removed from the case. A suitable lock is provided for selectively locking the clam shell members to each other to prevent a separation of the clam shell members. A handle suitable for gripping is provided on the housing for carrying the case. Positioning members in the form of stabilizing walls are provided within the clam shell housing for positioning the product and stabilizing it against excessive movements within the clam shell housing when the clam shell members are juxtaposed in a closed condition of the clam shell housing. The product is preferably maintained in a generally fixed design position within the clam shell housing where the protection of the product is enhanced. By making the clam shell housing from a transparent molded plastic material the protective case can also serve as a display case through which the product may be viewed.

Enhanced Comfort Headless Tambourine

US Patent:
7714219, May 11, 2010
Filed:
Mar 12, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/685042
Inventors:
Richard L. Taninbaum - Mamaroneck NY, US
Assignee:
Rhythm Tech, Inc. - New Rochelle NY
International Classification:
G10D 13/02
US Classification:
84418, 84411 R
Abstract:
An improved tambourine has a rigid, enclosed, jingle-supporting frame that defines a center of gravity and a number of pairs of percussion jingles connected to the frame at determined locations around one of the frame's segments. A handle for manually grasping the frame is connected to a second segment of the frame. The second segment is closer to the center of gravity of the tambourine than is the first segment, which is arcuate in shape. The second segment includes radial, inwardly turned portions and a handle-bearing portion that is substantially parallel to a chord formed between the ends of the arcuate first segment and spaced a determined distance from the geometric center of the handle.

Percussion Accessories For Drumsticks

US Patent:
8058541, Nov 15, 2011
Filed:
Sep 23, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/889105
Inventors:
Richard L. Taninbaum - Mamaroneck NY, US
Assignee:
Rhythm Tech Inc. - New Rochelle NY
International Classification:
G10D 13/02
US Classification:
844224
Abstract:
The accessory for a drum stick includes a pair of support members defining a parting plane and an elongate channel defined by elongated substantially parallel arcuate recesses on opposing sides of the parting plain. Biasing members, in the form of closed loops or rings, secure the support members and draw the support members together to minimize the cross-sectional dimensions of the elongate channel when the support members about against each other in a contracted condition. The cross-sectional dimensions of the elongate channel increase when the support members are separated and moved in opposing directions to an expanded condition, resulting in restoring forces in the biasing members that tend to revert the support members to the contracted condition. Sound producing elements are provided, such as steel shot within compartments formed in the supporting members or jingles attached to the support members. Insertion of a drum stick into the elongate channel separates the members and moves them from the contracted condition to an expanded condition against the action of the biasing members and the accessory can be reliably retained on the shaft of the drum stick as a result of frictional forces due to the restoring forces urging the support members against the drumstick.

High Hat Tambourine Assembly

View page
US Patent:
8330031, Dec 11, 2012
Filed:
Jan 20, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/354955
Inventors:
Richard L. Taninbaum - Mamaroneck NY, US
International Classification:
G10D 13/02
US Classification:
84418
Abstract:
A high hat tambourine assembly includes a circular frame and a hub coextensive with the frame axis and has an elongate axial channel dimensioned to receive a rod of a high hat for free relative slidable movements. Quick-release arms are mounted on the hub and normally biased to provide an opening that is smaller than axial channel and having manually engageable gripping members that frictionally engage the rod with a force sufficient to normally secure said hub to the rod. The arms can be manually gripped by the hand of the user and actuated to separate the gripping members to enlarge the normally restricted opening to allow the rod to freely pass. A plurality of jingles are secured to the frame. The high hat tambourine assembly can be quickly and conveniently mounted on or released from the rod with one hand of the user.
