Filed:
Mar 20, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/688473
Inventors:
Ran Kohen - Aventura FL, US
International Classification:
H01R 31/00
US Classification:
439537, 439953
Abstract:
A device for connecting and supporting electrical fixtures includes a male electrical plug, a mating female electrical socket and a releasable latch assembly for both holding the plug in the socket and mechanically mounting the fixture on a supporting surface or an electrical box. The plug is provided with concentric, ring shaped male connectors that are matingly received within similarly shaped female recesses in the socket to allow the fixture to be rotated to any of a plurality or mounting orientations. The releasable latch assembly is controlled by the stroke of a simple push rod operated by a user's thumb or finger.

Filed:
Dec 2, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/720656
Inventors:
Ran Kohen - Aventura FL, US
International Classification:
H01R 13/60
US Classification:
439366, 439529
Abstract:
A device for connecting and supporting fixtures, such as electrical fixtures, includes a male plug, a mating female socket and a releasable spindle assembly for both holding the plug in the socket and mechanically mounting the fixture on a supporting surface or an electrical box. The plug is provided with concentric, ring shaped male connectors that are matingly received within similarly shaped female recesses in the socket to create electrical connections and also allow the fixture to be rotated to any of a plurality or mounting orientations. The releasable spindle assembly is controlled by the actuation of a push rod operated by a tool or user's finger.

Disconnecting And Supporting Quick Release Electrical Fixtures

US Patent:
20210296819, Sep 23, 2021
Filed:
Nov 3, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/087730
Inventors:
Ran Roland KOHEN - Aventura FL, US
International Classification:
H01R 13/627
H01R 24/66
H01R 24/76
Abstract:
A plug is connectable to an electrical socket which has concentric ring shaped openings housing electrical contacts. The plug has a body supporting electrically conductive concentric rings insertable into the socket to contact the electrical contacts to form electrical connections. A hollow post extends away from the plug body and has a transverse aperture therethrough. A rod with a narrowed portion is slideable within the post. A spring biases the rod towards a latched position in which the narrow portion is not adjacent to the transverse aperture. A cross-brace is connected to a portion of the rod which extends outside of the post. Pins engage the cross brace and can be pushed to move the brace, and thereby push the rod to position the narrowed portion to an unlatched position adjacent the aperture to enable removal of the plug.

Filed:
May 1, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/609875
Inventors:
Ran Roland KOHEN - Aventura FL, US
International Classification:
F21V 23/06
F21S 8/08
F21V 21/116
F21V 23/04

H01R 39/64
H01R 13/627
Abstract:
A street light has a pole of at least 6 feet in length, and has an electrical socket attached to an end of the pole. The socket includes a body having an interior, and a cover positioned on the body to cover the interior of the body. The cover has a ring-shaped openings providing passage into the interior of the body. Resiliently mounted electrical contactors are each positioned in the interior of the body and adjacent to one of the ring-shaped openings in the cover. A central bore extends through the body, and a ledge is positioned at the end of the bore to extend radially outward. The socket is connectable to a mating plug to mechanically and electrically connect a street light or other device to the pole. The street light can include sensors that are connectable using a similar socket and plug.

US Patent:
20200018469, Jan 16, 2020
Filed:
Mar 5, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/491321
Inventors:
Ran Roland KOHEN - Aventura FL, US
International Classification:

Abstract:
A socket and plug are used to connect an electrical fixture with electrical power supply wiring, and for mounting the fixture on a support. The socket has internal cavities with electrically conductive contact terminals which establish an electrical connection between the electrical power supply wiring and the socket. A plug is rigidly fixed to a fixture, and is inserted into the socket. The plug has male connectors electrically connected to the fixture and engageable with the conductive terminals within the socket. A releasable latch is carried on the combination of the plug and the socket for releasably mounting the fixture on the support. A hub surrounds the plug and socket, and houses a plurality of sensor modules releasably connectable to a periphery of the hub. The sensor modules each include an electronic device operative to generate or transmit electronic data.
