US Patent:
20190308588, Oct 10, 2019
Filed:
Jun 24, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/450106
Inventors:
- Dearborn MI, US
Michael MCQUILLEN - Warren MI, US
Gopichandra SURNILLA - West Bloomfield MI, US
Radhakrishnan SWAMINATHAN - Grand Blanc MI, US
International Classification:
B60R 25/24
G07C 9/00
H04L 9/08
Abstract:
A system includes a processor configured to generate a new access key, responsive to a vehicle shutdown. The processor is also configured to connect to a previously identified user wireless device. The processor is further configured to deliver the new access key to the user wireless device, responsive to connection to the wireless device and locally store a copy of the new access key in a file designated for reference for a next-access attempt.

Methods And Apparatus To Monitor An Activity Level Of A Driver

View page
US Patent:
20190232966, Aug 1, 2019
Filed:
Sep 8, 2016
Appl. No.:
16/330815
Inventors:
- Dearborn MI, US
Gary Steven STRUMOLO - Canton MI, US
Reates CURRY - Ann Arbor MI, US
Mike BLOMMER - Ann Arbor MI, US
Radhakrishnan SWAMINATHAN - Grand Blanc MI, US
International Classification:
B60W 40/08
G06K 9/00
G06F 3/01
B60W 50/14
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to monitor an activity level of a driver are disclosed. An example method includes receiving, at a processor, eye movement data from a sensor monitoring eye movements of a driver of a vehicle. The method includes calculating, via the processor, an eye movement activity index using a substantially real-time recursive analysis of the eye movement data. The method further includes calculating, via the processor, a low activity indicator for the driver based on the eye movement activity index. The method also includes executing a task based on the low activity indicator.

Systems And Methods For Calibrating Vehicle Sensing Devices

US Patent:
20180319250, Nov 8, 2018
Filed:
May 5, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/588140
Inventors:
- Dearborn MI, US
Daniel A. Makled - Dearborn MI, US
Gopichandra Surnilla - West Bloomfield MI, US
Richard E. Soltis - Saline MI, US
Radhakrishnan Swaminathan - Grand Blanc MI, US
International Classification:
B60H 1/00
B60H 1/12
B60H 1/32
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for improving operation of a vehicle heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system. In one example, a method may include calibrating a vehicle humidity sensor position inside a cabin of the vehicle by obtaining one or more humidity measurements with one or more personal computing devices positioned inside the cabin, and may further include adjusting operation of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system responsive to the calibration. In this way, an interior humidity sensor of a vehicle may be regularly calibrated, which may improve operation of the vehicle heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system, and may further increase fuel economy.
