View page
US Patent:
20030209007, Nov 13, 2003
Filed:
May 10, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/142343
Inventors:
Anthony Furman - Scotia NY, US
Michael Cueman - Niskayuna NY, US
Penelope Markatou - Phoenixville PA, US
International Classification:
F01N003/00
F01N003/10
US Classification:
060/275000, 060/300000
Abstract:
An apparatus for reducing emissions of a combustion engine is disclosed, the apparatus comprising: an energy converter adapted to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy, but having no mechanical coupling to any drive shaft of the combustion engine; and an exhaust aftertreatment device adapted to receive the electrical energy from the energy converter, receive exhaust gases from the combustion engine, and remove pollutants from the exhaust gases.

US Patent:
20170341026, Nov 30, 2017
Filed:
May 30, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/608276
Inventors:
- London, GB
Julian Cox - Wayne PA, US
Joseph Fedeyko - Wayne PA, US
Penelope Markatou - Audubon PA, US
Jason Pless - Audubon PA, US
International Classification:
B01D 53/94
F01N 3/08
F01N 11/00
B01J 23/22
Abstract:
An exhaust gas purification system for lowering the content of impurities in a lean exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine comprising, a feeding device that feeds ammonia or a compound decomposable to ammonia into an exhaust gas stream containing nitrogen oxides; a selective catalytic reduction catalyst comprising vanadium (V-SCR catalyst) which catalyzes the nitrogen oxides with ammonia in a temperature range of about 150 C. to about 400 C. and at an NO/NOratio of about 0.3 to about 0.9; and a downstream system comprising a diesel oxidation catalyst.

Diagnostic System For Exhaust System Components

View page
US Patent:
20160047751, Feb 18, 2016
Filed:
Aug 7, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/820608
Inventors:
- London, GB
Darrell Scott SAPP - Talleyville DE, US
Penelope MARKATOU - Wayne PA, US
Assignee:
JOHNSON MATTHEY PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANY - London
International Classification:
G01N 21/78
B01D 53/94
Abstract:
A diagnostic system for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The diagnostic system comprises a catalyst component and a marker that undergoes a physical transition above a transition temperature of the marker. A method for determining if a catalyst component in an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine has been exposed to a deactivating temperature is also disclosed.
