Electronic Device With Grip-Sensor Latching System And Corresponding Methods

View page
US Patent:
20210124451, Apr 29, 2021
Filed:
Oct 29, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/667649
Inventors:
- Chicago IL, US
Nathaniel Mitchell - Chicago IL, US
Nigil Valikodath - Elmhurst IL, US
International Classification:
G06F 3/041
G06F 1/16
G06F 1/3206
G06F 3/14
G06F 3/0488
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a device housing and at least two grip sensors disposed along the device housing. One or more processors are operable with the at least two grip sensors. At least one electronic latch is operable with the one or more processors. The one or more processors transition the at least one electronic latch from a latched state to an unlatched state when the at least two grip sensors detect a grip applied to the at least two grip sensors.

Electronic Device With Reversible Railed Attachment Connector System

US Patent:
20200298105, Sep 24, 2020
Filed:
Mar 18, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/357005
Inventors:
- Chicago IL, US
Nigil Valikodath - Elmhurst IL, US
George Standish - Marengo IL, US
International Classification:
A63F 13/24
G06F 1/16
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a device housing. A monorail having a monorail body defining a first end and a second end separated from the first end along a major axis of the monorail body is mechanically coupled to a minor face of the device housing by a bridge member. A first electrical connector is positioned at the first end of the monorail body, while a second electrical connector positioned at the second end of the monorail body. The first electrical connector and the second electrical connector are of the same type. An attachment having a housing defining a monorail receiver with an aperture at a first end and a bounding wall at a second end includes an electrical connector situated within the monorail receiver at the bounding wall. The attachment can be coupled in two configurations to the monorail.

US Patent:
20190268458, Aug 29, 2019
Filed:
Feb 27, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/906581
Inventors:
- Chicago IL, US
Douglas Lautner - Round Lake IL, US
Daryl C. Cromer - Chicago IL, US
George Standish - Chicago IL, US
Nigil George Valikodath - Chicago IL, US
Assignee:
Motorola Mobility LLC - Chicago IL
International Classification:
H04M 1/21
A61B 5/08
A61B 5/00
A61B 5/097
G01N 33/497
Abstract:
Systems and methods for user exhalation and environmental air analysis are implemented in an integrated or dockable analysis architecture including an opening adjacent a device microphone to admit an exhalation of a user while the user is speaking. In an embodiment, the opening leads to a passageway having at least one gas sensor therein, located such that a user exhalation entering the opening will impinge on the at least one gas sensor. A processor is linked to the gas sensor, and is configured to receive sensor signals from the gas sensor and generate biological information for the user.
