US Patent:
7581167, Aug 25, 2009
Filed:
May 17, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/858634
Inventors:
Michael Haeuptle - Roseville CA, US
Assignee:
Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. - Houston TX
International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
715206, 715234
Abstract:
A method and system are described for simulating a dynamic link between electronic documents located in a computer network. In accordance with exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a first dynamic link is selected that leads from a first electronic document to a second electronic document. The position of the first dynamic link is located within a first set of instructions used to render the first electronic document. A navigation point associated with the first dynamic link is identified in the first set of instructions. The navigation point is then stored.

Http Distributed Xml-Based Automated Event Polling For Network And E-Service Management

US Patent:
20030028577, Feb 6, 2003
Filed:
Apr 30, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/843945
Inventors:
Aaron Loyd - Fort Collins CO, US
Michael Haeuptle - Roseville CA, US
International Classification:
G06F009/00
G06F015/16
US Classification:
709/100000, 709/200000
Abstract:
A method and system is disclosed for automated event polling in a network. A server receives a HTTP request for data from a database on the server. A client generates the HTTP request for the data. The server responds to the request by reformatting the data into an XML format. The server then transmits the data in XML format to the client. The client receives the data transmitted from the server in XML format and converts the data in XML format to a format used by the client software.

Sliding Window For Alert Generation

View page
US Patent:
20050197792, Sep 8, 2005
Filed:
Mar 3, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/792557
Inventors:
Michael Haeuptle - Rocklin CA, US
International Classification:
H04Q007/00
US Classification:
702066000
Abstract:
A method for generating alerts from a periodically sampled system is disclosed. The method includes maintaining a sampling window having a predefined number of most-recently collected samples. The method further includes calculating an alert value, the alert value representing a ratio of a first value to a total number of samples in the sampling window, the first value representing a total number of samples in the sampling window having parameters exceeding a predefined sample alert threshold. The method additionally includes generating a first alert if the alert value exceeds a predefined alert threshold.

Method And Apparatus For Measuring Business Transaction Performance

US Patent:
20110264790, Oct 27, 2011
Filed:
Apr 27, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/768451
Inventors:
Michael Haeuptle - Rocklin CA, US
Brent A. Enck - Roseville CA, US
Mark Sturdevant - Granite Bay CA, US
Avi Huber - Los Altos CA, US
Constantinos Papadopoulos - Nicosia, CY
International Classification:
G06F 15/173
G06F 11/00
US Classification:
709224, 714704, 714E11004
Abstract:
A method for measuring business transaction performance, includes the steps of, at a top-level component, assigning a correlation tag and original time stamp to a server request, passing the original time stamp with any server requests from the top-level component to one or more subsequent components, and computing an aggregate latency over a predetermined interval at the top-level component and at each subsequent component based on the original time stamp.

Automatic Discovery Of Application Infrastructure

US Patent:
20130019253, Jan 17, 2013
Filed:
Jul 14, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/182840
Inventors:
Sunil Joseph - Sacramento CA, US
Michael Haeuptle - Rocklin CA, US
James Branen - Roseville CA, US
Bill Furnas - Granite Bay CA, US
Yanhua Li - Rocklin CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 9/44
US Classification:
719328
Abstract:
A method for automatically discovering application infrastructure for actively monitored transactions includes observing an activity and synthetic transaction using a diagnostic agent deployed into a process space of an application server. Application components are identified based on the synthetic transaction, and the application infrastructure is identified based on the application components.

Platform Runtime Abstraction

View page
US Patent:
20170048331, Feb 16, 2017
Filed:
Nov 1, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/340380
Inventors:
- Houston TX, US
Rajeev Bharadhwaj - Sunnyvale CA, US
Travis S. Tripp - Fort Collins CO, US
Kevin L. Wilson - Fort Collins CO, US
Michael Haeuptle - Fort Collins CO, US
International Classification:
H04L 29/08
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and machine-readable and executable instructions are provided for platform runtime abstraction. Platform runtime abstraction can include creating a number of template models within a platform wherein the number of template models correspond to a provider mode and creating a number of abstraction layers that allow a provider to plug into the platform at runtime wherein the provider includes a provider sub-system and the provider model. Platform runtime abstraction can also include allowing the provider to plug into the platform at runtime through one of the number of abstraction layers wherein the provider remains independent of the platform and wherein the provider remains independent of a platform hardware infrastructure and a platform operating system infrastructure.
