Abstract:
A system and method for controlling output of content on a media rendering device. A mobile phone may be effective to receive a request for content where the content is from a content processor. The mobile phone may be effective to generate a command based on the request, the command including a URL, the URL including an address of a gateway processor and an identification of the content processor. The mobile phone may be effective to send the command to the media rendering device. The media rendering device may be effective to send a request to the gateway processor using the URL. The gateway processor may be effective to receive the content from the content processor and send the content to the media rendering device. The media rendering device may be effective to output the content.

Abstract:
A management module that provides remote access and control of a computing device includes a keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) switch, a KVM over Internet Protocol (KVMoIP) module, and an Ethernet switch. It may also include a serial module and/or a microprocessor. The management module may be embedded in a circuit board such as a motherboard, daughterboard, baseboard or equivalent structure, of desktops, servers, notebooks, docking stations, personal digital assistants, and next generation phones or implemented as a dongle for connection to any of such devices. The management module provides out of band access by IT personnel and permits such persons to get full control of such equipped devices. Utilization of the modules enhances security, permits off peak hour maintenance, reduces downtime, and requires no end user involvement.

A method for sending content to a media device. The method comprises receiving a request by a mobile phone for content, the mobile phone including an antenna effective to communicate with a base station or a satellite. The method comprises sending the request from the mobile phone over the Internet to a content server. The request further comprises receiving the request at the content server; sending the request to a memory; receiving the content from the memory and sending the content from the content server to the mobile phone. The method further comprises receiving the content from the content server at the mobile phone; sending at least some of the content from the mobile phone to a media device; receiving the at least some of the content at the media device; and outputting the content on the media device.
