Method And Apparatus For Seeking The Burst Cutting Area Of Dvd Media

View page
US Patent:
6904232, Jun 7, 2005
Filed:
Apr 4, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/542233
Inventors:
Mehran Ayat - Los Altos CA, US
Nedi Nadershahi - Pleasanton CA, US
Assignee:
Zoran Corporation - Sunnyvale CA
International Classification:
H04N005/85
H04N007/64
US Classification:
386125, 386113, 386114
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for reading data from the burst cutting area of a digital video disc. The present location of an optical head assembly is determined. The distance from the present location of the optical head assembly to the burst cutting area is calculated. The optical head assembly is moved by the calculated distance toward the burst cutting area. Data stored in the burst cutting area is read. The read data is checked for error. Repeat until there is no error in the data.

System For Stop Buffering When A Count Of Stored Data Blocks From A Dvd Matches An Associated Data Block Number Of A Requested Data Block Set

View page
US Patent:
6701391, Mar 2, 2004
Filed:
Jan 19, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/487088
Inventors:
Mehran Ayat - Los Altos CA
Nedi Nadershahi - Pleasanton CA
Assignee:
Oak Technology, Inc. - Sunnyvale CA
International Classification:
G06F 1314
US Classification:
710 34, 710 52, 710 74, 711173
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transferring optical data from a DVD in response to a request from a host. When a data request is issued, a portion of the request containing the target ID for the target data block is used by a comparator circuit to locate the target data block. Another portion of the request containing the number of data blocks requested is used by a monitoring circuit to monitor data block transfer from a DVD to a data buffer once the target data block is located. The monitoring circuit stops data transfer when all of the requested data blocks have been transferred. Each data block is transferred into a data buffer containing areas separated by pointers. In a scratch area of the data buffer, the data block is error corrected, error checked and descrambled. After error checking and descrambling, the data portions of the data block are transferred to a data area in the data buffer, the auxiliary portions of the data block are transferred to an auxiliary area in the data buffer and the status of the error checking is latched into registers. Before any data is transferred from the data buffer to the host through an interface, the data status in the registers is checked.

Multi-Path Signal Processing For Microelectromechanical Systems (Mems) Sensors

View page
US Patent:
20180031597, Feb 1, 2018
Filed:
Jul 29, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/224131
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Mehran Ayat - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
G01P 13/00
G01P 15/08
G01C 19/00
B81B 7/00
Abstract:
Multi-path signal processing for microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors is described. An exemplary MEMS sensor apparatus can comprise a single MEMS sensor element and an associated integrated circuit (IC) that facilitates generating multiple output signals having different output signal electrical characteristics required by a host system. Provided implementations can minimize cost and IC die area of associated MEMS sensor apparatuses and systems by employing one or more signal multiplexers (MUXs) on a single common signal path from the single MEMS sensor element. In addition, various methods of generating multiple output signals having different output signal electrical characteristics from a single MEMS sensor element are described.

Systems And Methods For Stabilizing Images

View page
US Patent:
20170041545, Feb 9, 2017
Filed:
Aug 8, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/231186
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
James B. Lim - Saratoga CA, US
Daniela Hall - Eybens, FR
Romain Fayolle - Grenoble, FR
Mehran Ayat - Los Altos CA, US
International Classification:
H04N 5/232
H04N 5/225
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for stabilizing digital images. Sensor representing a condition of the portable device may be obtained and used to classify a context of the portable device based at least in part on the sensor data. One or more stabilization parameters may be determined based on the context and used to stabilize an image captured from an image sensor of the portable device.
