Electronic Jacks Game

View page
US Patent:
43558062, Oct 26, 1982
Filed:
Apr 28, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/144799
Inventors:
Gordon H. Buck - Torrance CA
Paul W. Cayley - Rancho Palos Verdes CA
Martha K. Hardwick - Costa Mesa CA
Daniel J. Shoff - Torrance CA
Assignee:
Mattel, Inc. - Hawthorne CA
International Classification:
A63F 900
US Classification:
273 85G
Abstract:
An electronic toy game of skill for two players includes an array of illuminatable display elements, such as LED's, randomly selected ones of which are illuminated during each round of play; a corresponding plurality of player switches which are located adjacent to the associated display elements and control means for associating those switches with the lamps in the given manner. During each round of play a continuously perceptible time period is established by the control means. This time period has a duration related to the number of LED's that are to be illuminated during a given round of play. During each player's turn, some LED's are illuminated and by operating the player switches, the player attempts to extinguish the LED's prior to expiration of the time period. Failure to successfully extinguish such LED's results in termination of that player's turn. The winner of the game is that player who first successfully completes a predetermined number of rounds.

Apparatus For Controlling Flow And Pressure Measurement

View page
US Patent:
46488685, Mar 10, 1987
Filed:
Sep 30, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/782032
Inventors:
Martha K. Hardwick - Tustin CA
Kelly A. Pike - Laguna Hills CA
George D. Evans - Arlington CA
Ronald Edwards - San Clemente CA
Jacob J. Norman - Westminster CA
Assignee:
American Hospital Supply Corporation - Evanston IL
International Classification:
A61B 502
F16K 2100
US Classification:
604 32
Abstract:
An apparatus comprising a valve body having first, second and vent ports and a generally tubular valve element having a peripheral wall with first, second and vent openings in the peripheral wall leading to the interior of the tubular valve element. The valve element is mounted in the valve body for rotational movement between first and second rotational positions and for axial movement between first and second axial positions. A pressure sensor is exposed to the fluid pressure within the valve body. In the first rotational position of the valve element, drip flow is provided between the first and second ports, and in the second rotational position, the vent port is open to provide communication between the pressure sensor and the atmosphere. To provide flush flow between the first and second ports, the valve element is moved to the second axial position.

Red Light - Green Light Game

US Patent:
42969263, Oct 27, 1981
Filed:
Dec 26, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/106715
Inventors:
Gordon H. Buck - Torrance CA
Martha K. Hardwick - Redondo Beach CA
Assignee:
Mattel, Inc. - Hawthorne CA
International Classification:
A63F 914
US Classification:
273 86R
Abstract:
A hand-held electronic game of skill. First and second columns of LED's display the positions and movements of the piece indicia of respective first and second players between respective starting and finishing positions. During the first state of a stop/go indicator, the manipulation of either of two player input switches causes the piece indicium displayed on the respective column to advance toward its finishing position. During the second state of the stop/go indicator, the manipulation of either of the two player input switches causes the piece indicium displayed on the respective column to be returned to its starting position. The first and second states of the stop/go indicator are established alternately, and continue for periods the durations of which vary randomly between predetermined minimum and maximum values.
