Abstract:
Disclosed is a circuit to amplify a signal generated by the varying conductance of a photoconductor and to bias the photoconductance for optimum performance. A transistor means, with base input being proportional to the photoconductor's conductance and output being 180. degree. out of phase with the input is coupled to an operational amplifier where said output is further amplified. Part of this inverted amplified output is then used to bias the photoconductor, immediately offsetting a changed voltage across the photoconductor and keeping voltage across the photoconductor constant.

In one embodiment, there is shown a method for establishing communication between users by providing to a first user the identity of a second user automatically selected from a group of users; and establishing a communication connection from the first user to the identified second user while the identity is being provided to the first user only if the first user desires to establish the communication connection.
