US Patent:
47545836, Jul 5, 1988
Filed:
Oct 10, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/917781
Inventors:
Louis J. Jenn - Indianapolis IN
Assignee:
Atrium Structures, Inc. - Indianapolis IN
International Classification:
E04B 132
US Classification:
52 88
Abstract:
A molded roof section for use with dwelling units includes a domed main body portion which is arranged with a leading edge, an opposite trailing edge, and two side edges. The leading edge is configured with strengthening ribs and a defined groove while the trailing edge also including strengthening ribs is configured with a tongue such that the leading edge of one roof section may be assembled to the trailing edge of the contiguous roof section by a tongue-in-groove assembly concept. The side edges of said roof section are arranged with downwardly opening channels which are spaced so as to correspond to the spacing between dwelling unit sidewalls. Each roof section is molded of a high-density polymer foam as a homogeneous, unitary member and each roof section may be easily and readily lifted in place and lowered onto the sidewalls such the sidewalls fit into the downwardly opening channels of each section. In order to complete the entire roof for the dwelling, additional molded roof sections are applied, each additional section being assembled to the dwelling in a similar manner. For added strength each roof section is covered with an epoxy coating.

Convertible Radiant Convection Oven

View page
US Patent:
40717399, Jan 31, 1978
Filed:
Mar 10, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/776118
Inventors:
Louis J. Jenn - Indianapolis IN
Joseph J. Cerola - Indianapolis IN
Assignee:
Jenn Air Corporation - Indianapolis IN
International Classification:
F27D 1102
US Classification:
219400
Abstract:
Disclosed is an oven which may or may not be incorporated in a domestic cooking range. The oven is characterized by the presence of a fan inset in one side wall of the oven. A plate having upper and lower slots approximately aligned with the conventionally located upper and lower oven heating elements overlies the fan. The slots or openings in the plate provide discharge apertures for the fan so that the air streams from the fan sweep past the heating elements to provide forced circulation or "convected" mode operation. Since the oven heating elements are conventionally located, the oven may be operated in the conventional, radiant mode by halting operation of the fan. The oven is thus easily convertible to either radiant or convection mode of operation.
