I have always struggled when it comes to writing a biography. I can write “I am a member of this or that” but I know when I read other bios it really makes no difference to me what they are a member of or how many online classes they have taken to get a initial behind their name. I feel that if a person is licensed to represent a client in a real estate transaction they should at the very least be competent enough to perform the task without fault. What I want to know when I read a biography is what are YOU going to do for me. What can I do for you that John Doe from XYZ Real Estate Company is not. So what sets me apart from my Realtor associates? I will get to that, but first I would like to tell you a little bit “about me” as it makes me the person I am and the Realtor I am today. I grew up in Piedmont, SD (just NW of Rapid City) on a big lot that was joined by my grandparents whom owned horses and the occasional cow or two. I remember going outside in the morning, playing in the barn and the neighboring creek and not returning till dusk. I learned to drive by navigating my grandfather’s old jeep around in the pasture when I was 10. We only watched cartoons on Saturday morning because that was the only time cartoons were on. Life was so simplistic, wasn’t it? Fast forward to when I was 21 and decided to move to NY. I loved it, said on a daily basis “I will never move back to SD”. Fast forward a few more years, I met my husband and after having our first two children we decided to make the move back to the Black Hills. Why? Because we love the simplicity, the laid back lifestyle, it is an amazing place to raise a child and, of course, we LOVE the beautiful Black Hills! We enjoy hiking, camping, and fishing when the weather permits it. I have been very fortunate to have traveled to nearly every state in the US and a few trips to Europe and while I love traveling and experiencing different cultures there is no comparison to the Black Hills. Did I mention I LOVE the Black Hills? Why did I choose real estate? I LOVE selling houses! I love everything about it. I find it extremely gratifying to help clients find exactly what they are looking for or to be able to help them sell their current home and start their next adventure. When I represent a buyer I will not rest until I find them “the one”, literally, I will not sleep. I am up until 2 a.m. searching the listings to find what they are searching for. I enjoy staging homes (FYI- I am not a professional stager, but seem to have a knack for it, must be due to the hours I spend online neurotically researching the studies of what helps sell a home and what doesn’t), showing homes, negotiating the deal and seeing it through to the closing. Also (I know this may sound very cliche) I truly love meeting new people. I have also created a dominate internet exposure to ensure my listings are front and center when buyers start their search (85% of all buyers start their search online). I incorporate the latest and most innovative ways to market my client’s homes and will continue to keep up with the trends to capture the target market.
