Abstract:
A lighting apparatus includes a support member, a lighting unit mounted on one end of the support member, and a lamp shade mounted on the lighting unit. The lighting unit includes a containment member having a mounting portion mounted on the support member, a flared wall portion extending from a periphery of the mounting portion in a first direction away from the support member, and a partition plate disposed inside the flared wall portion in a second direction transverse to the first direction so as to define a closed accommodating space and an open accommodating space on two sides of the partition plate. The partition plate is formed with a cord hole. A socket member is disposed in the open accommodating space for mounting a light bulb thereon. An insulated conductive cord member has a first end portion connected electrically to the socket member, and a second end portion that extends into the closed accommodating space via the cord hole in the partition plate. A power cord member has a first connecting end to be connected electrically with a power supply, and a second connecting end that extends into the closed accommodating space and that is connected electrically to the second end portion of the insulated conductive cord member.

Picture Frame System With Gooseneck Support

View page
US Patent:
20040221500, Nov 11, 2004
Filed:
May 8, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/435711
Inventors:
Lee Schaak - Dix Hills NY, US
Duan-Cheng Hsieh - Taipei, TW
Assignee:
Adesso Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
A47G001/16
US Classification:
040/745000, 040/607100
Abstract:
A picture frame system comprises a base, a flexible gooseneck extending from the base, a mount and a trim panel disposed at an end of the gooseneck away from the base. The gooseneck is a jointed, articulated tube with a resiliency sufficient to support a load defined by the mount, trim panel, and a picture. Optionally, a plurality of flexible goosenecks can extend from the base and each can have a different axial length. Also optionally, the mount and trim plate can be configured so that the trim panel is magnetically seatable on the mount for retaining the picture between the mount and the trim panel.

US Patent:
20040221501, Nov 11, 2004
Filed:
May 8, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/435710
Inventors:
Lee Schaak - Dix Hills NY, US
Duan-Cheng Hsieh - Taipei, TW
Assignee:
Adesso Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
A47G001/16
US Classification:
040/747000, 040/607040
Abstract:
A picture frame system comprises a base, a telescoping support coupled to and extending from the base, a mount and a trim panel supported at an end of the support away from the base. The support is comprised of at least first and second coaxially joined tubes. The second tube being axially moveable relative to the first tube. *The first and second tubes can be joined by one or more intermediate coaxially joined tubes. The support has sufficient rigidity to support a load defined by the mount, trim panel, and a picture. Optionally, a plurality of telescoping supports can be coupled to and extend from the base, and each can have a different axial length. Also optionally, the mount and trim plate can be configured so that the trim panel is magnetically seatable on the mount for retaining the picture between the mount and the trim panel.

Gooseneck Lighting Apparatus With Decorative Jelly Sleeve

View page
US Patent:
20060072327, Apr 6, 2006
Filed:
Sep 30, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/955955
Inventors:
Lee Schaak - Dix Hills NY, US
Assignee:
Adesso Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
F21V 19/00
US Classification:
362382000
Abstract:
A lighting apparatus includes a gooseneck support arm covered with a resilient, elastomer colored decorative jelly sleeve. The decorative jelly sleeve is made from a resilient elastomeric material and circumferentially surrounds the gooseneck. The jelly sleeve imparts a compressive force on the gooseneck creating, in combination with a coefficient of static friction, a frictional force that is greater than an axially deforming force exerted on the sleeve by a radial bending motion of the gooseneck. The jelly sleeve is capable of returning to an original shape and size after removal of the axially deforming force. The lighting apparatus can include multiple gooseneck arms each covered by a jelly sleeve, and be configured as a desk lamp, a floor lamp, a wall lamp, or a clampable lamp.

Gooseneck Lighting Apparatus With Decorative Woven Sleeve

US Patent:
20060077672, Apr 13, 2006
Filed:
Aug 24, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/211767
Inventors:
Lee Schaak - Dix Hills NY, US
Assignee:
Adesso Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
F21S 8/08
US Classification:
362418000, 362427000
Abstract:
A lighting apparatus includes a gooseneck support arm covered with a resilient colored decorative sleeve. The sleeve is made from woven elements oriented with respect to each other so as to define an outer wall and an inner wall, where the inner wall snugly fits circumferentially about at least a portion of the gooseneck. The weave and material of the sleeve is such that after the removal of a re-orientating, axially-deforming force exerted on the sleeve by a radial bending motion of the gooseneck, the sleeve returns to an original size and shape. The lighting apparatus can include multiple gooseneck arms each covered by a jelly sleeve, and be configured as a desk lamp, a floor lamp, a wall lamp, or a clampable lamp.
