View page
US Patent:
20130031350, Jan 31, 2013
Filed:
Jul 25, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/190056
Inventors:
Kurt Roman Thielen - Maple Grove MN, US
Robert Edward Taylor - Newbury VT, US
Patrick James Sansonetti - Hopkinton MA, US
Ryan Michael Melville - Chaska MN, US
James Joseph Alviani - Plymouth MN, US
International Classification:
G06F 1/24
US Classification:
713100
Abstract:
A first network signal is received indicating a device identifier in response to a transaction involving an electronic device uniquely associated with the device identifier. An entity identifier specific to an entity associated with the transaction is determined. In response to an initialization event of the electronic device, a second network signal from the electronic device is received that identifies the electronic device. In response to the second network signal, a configuration is communicated to the electronic device that is specific to the entity associated with the transaction.

US Patent:
20040117442, Jun 17, 2004
Filed:
Dec 8, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/730692
Inventors:
Kurt Thielen - Maple Grove MN, US
International Classification:
G06F017/00
G06F015/16
US Classification:
709/203000, 709/217000, 709/219000, 700/094000
Abstract:
A portable handheld digital content player has an integrated wireless interface, an integrated FM transmitter and an integrated auto on and auto off feature for ease of use in vehicles. The player and associated software on a base content server provide automated broadband wireless content downloads to the player while in a vehicle and transfer of audio to the vehicle stereo via FM band transmission without the use of an accessory. The player integrates an FM scan function to search for a suitable frequency for transmitting within the FM band. The player integrates some PDA-like functionality including personal contact information, appointment calendar, user schedule, email in addition to others.

Establishment And Use Of Time Mapping Based On Interpolation Using Low-Rate Fingerprinting, To Help Facilitate Frame-Accurate Content Revision

View page
US Patent:
20220191563, Jun 16, 2022
Filed:
Mar 2, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/653183
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Markus K. Cremer - Orinda CA, US
Shashank C. Merchant - Sunnyvale CA, US
Kurt R. Thielen - Maple Grove MN, US
International Classification:
H04N 21/234
G06F 17/18
H04N 21/43
Abstract:
A media client ascertains a plurality of matching points between (i) query fingerprints representing a media stream being received by the client and (ii) reference fingerprints, each identified matching point defining a respective match between a query fingerprint that is timestamped with client time defined according to a clock of the client and a reference fingerprint that is timestamped with true time defined according to a timeline within a known media stream. Further, the client performs linear regression based on the timestamps of the ascertained plurality of matching points, to establish a mapping between true time and client time. The client then uses the established mapping as a basis to determine a client-time point at which the client should perform an action with respect to media stream being received by the client. And the client performs the action at the determined client-time point.

H04N 7/173
H04N 21/258
H04N 21/45
H04N 21/81
H04N 21/441
Abstract:
A method may include receiving a consent-processing request at a consent management platform from a content-presentation device, and using an identifier string in the request to establish a secure interactive session configured for user selection of consent options associated with a particular consent package of the platform, where the package may include identifiers of consent features of a media distribution system that require user consent in order to be activated for the device. The platform may then receive, via the interactive session, user consent data including a respective consent choice for each of one or more consent options, where each respective consent choice indicates acceptance or rejection of consent to activating an associated consent feature identified with the particular consent package. The received respective consent choices may be stored in a database of the consent management platform. Corresponding data may be stored in a whitelist on the content-presentation device.

US Patent:
20210117982, Apr 22, 2021
Filed:
Oct 21, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/075930
Inventors:
- New York NY, US
Peter William Ellison - Plymouth MN, US
Matthew Jorgensen - Eden Prairie MN, US
George Earl Harvey - Plymouth MN, US
Kurt Roman Thielen - Maple Grove MN, US
International Classification:
G06Q 30/00
G06F 16/9538
G06F 16/955
Abstract:
A method may include a consent manager server of a consent management platform retrieving from a file server a consent-package file identifying a consent package and including information for establishing a secure interactive session with a content-presentation device for selecting consent-agreement options associated with consent features of a media distribution system that require consent to be activated for the device. Receiving input (i) specifying consent agreements for the package and associated text descriptions of the agreements, (ii) associating devices with the package, (iii) specifying a jurisdiction for the agreements, and (iv) designating features of the package as active. The package file may be updated with the input and re-stored in the file server. Responsive a consent-processing request from a content-presentation device, an interactive session may be established with the device for receiving user consent choices. Features of the package to which user consented may be activated for the device.

Consent Management System With Client Operations

US Patent:
20210119808, Apr 22, 2021
Filed:
Oct 21, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/075940
Inventors:
- New York NY, US
Peter William Ellison - Plymouth MN, US
Matthew Jorgensen - Eden Prairie MN, US
George Earl Harvey - Plymouth MN, US
Kurt Roman Thielen - Maple Grove MN, US
International Classification:
H04L 9/32
H04N 21/441
H04L 29/06
Abstract:
In one aspect, a method carried out by a content-presentation device may include transmitting a consent-processing request, including an identifier string unique to the device, to a consent management platform disposed in a computing cloud. The string may be used to establish an interactive session for user selection of consent options associated with a consent package having consent features of a media distribution system that require user consent for activation on the device. The consent package may be one of multiple consent packages targeted for the device by the consent management platform. The interactive session may prompt for consent choices of consent options, each choice being acceptance or rejection of consent to activating features of the consent package. The consent choices may be provided to the consent management platform via the interactive session, and corresponding information may be stored in a device-based activation whitelist for each consent-to feature.

Consent Management System With Check-In And Synchronization Process

View page
US Patent:
20210119811, Apr 22, 2021
Filed:
Oct 21, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/075924
Inventors:
- New York NY, US
Peter William Ellison - Plymouth MN, US
Matthew Jorgensen - Eden Prairie MN, US
George Earl Harvey - Plymouth MN, US
Kurt Roman Thielen - Maple Grove MN, US
International Classification:
H04L 9/32
G06Q 30/02
G06Q 50/18
G06F 8/65
G06F 16/22
Abstract:
A method may include receiving a check-in request at a server of a consent management platform from a content-presentation device. The request may by or include an authentication certificate for establishing a secure communicative connection. A device token cryptographically-signed by the server, a global identifier (GID) unique to the content-presentation device, and a device-based device record may be received over the secure communicative connection. The server may retrieve a server-based device record for the device from a flat database using the GID as an index key, and then compare a device-based sequence number in the device-based device record with a server-based sequence number in the server-based device record. If the sequence numbers match, the server may send a check-in complete message to the content-presentation. If the sequence numbers do not match, the server may initiate a synchronization procedure with the content-presentation device.
