Motor Attachment Assembly For Plastic Post Isolation System

View page
US Patent:
7893572, Feb 22, 2011
Filed:
Aug 25, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/229616
Inventors:
Edward Douglas Pettitt - Burt NY, US
Kari Ann Sausen - Clarence NY, US
John Patrick Morgan - Lancaster NY, US
Assignee:
Delphi Technologies, Inc. - Troy MI
International Classification:
H02K 5/24
US Classification:
310 51, 310 91, 310 89, 24834604
Abstract:
The invention provides for a motor attachment assembly that includes an electric motor having spring clips adapted to securely lock onto the isolation posts of a plastic post vibration isolation system. The motor includes an end cap that has notches which cooperate with locator tabs of the motor housing to lock the cap onto the housing with the spring clips therebetween. Each clip includes an axial slot that is expandable in an open direction to receive an isolation post and biased in the closed direction to retain the isolation post. Each clip also has an inner surface with barbs protruding into the channel to allow insertion of the isolation post into the channel in the direction of the output shaft and to resist movement of the isolation post in a direction opposite to the output shaft. The inner surface has a retention groove to receive plastically deformed portions of the isolation post.

Pressed In Style Motor Attachment

View page
US Patent:
20090058209, Mar 5, 2009
Filed:
Aug 26, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/229625
Inventors:
Richard S. Baranowski - Lakeview NY, US
Kari Ann Sausen - Clarence NY, US
Edward Douglas Pettitt - Burt NY, US
Steve M. Zielinski - N. Tonawanda NY, US
International Classification:
H02K 5/24
US Classification:
310 91
Abstract:
The invention provides a press in style motor attachment mount assembly. The assembly includes a motor and a vibration isolator. The motor has an end portion axially remote from the output end and a stop facing the output end. The vibration isolator includes a cup that axially receives the end portion of the motor. The cup includes an end wall, a sidewall, and flexible fingers integrally connected to the sidewall. The flexible fingers have a flexed position in which the tip of the flexible finger is disposed radially outwardly to allow axial assembly of the end portion of the motor into the cup and a locking position where the tip engages the first radial stop to prevent axial detachment of the motor from the cup.

In-Groove Snap Fastener

View page
US Patent:
20110017742, Jan 27, 2011
Filed:
Jul 22, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/841435
Inventors:
Kari Ann Sausen - Clarence NY, US
Steve M. Zielinski - N. Tonawanda NY, US
Assignee:
DELPHI TECHNOLOGIES, INC. - Troy MI
International Classification:
B65D 45/16
F16B 17/00
US Classification:
220324, 403345, 403364, 403326
Abstract:
An in-groove snap fastener for securely connecting two housing members and for providing a substantially air tight seal is disclosed. The in-groove snap fastener includes a first groove member and a second groove member extending from a first housing member defining a groove therebetween. One of the groove members includes a raised surface oriented toward the other groove member and the other groove member defines an aperture. A tab member having an integral tongue portion and a locking portion extends from a second housing member in the direction of the groove. The tongue portion cooperates with the raised surface to provide an interference fit between the groove members forming a substantially airtight seal. The raised surface also urges the locking portion to cooperate with the aperture to secure the first housing member to the second housing member.

Cutting Head For An Intramedullary Reamer

View page
US Patent:
20180042618, Feb 15, 2018
Filed:
Aug 14, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/676228
Inventors:
- Clarence NY, US
Kari Ann Sausen - Clarence NY, US
Jack T. Bryant - Winona Lake IN, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/16
Abstract:
A cutting head for use with an intramedullary reamer is described. The reamer cutting head is of a unitary body construction that comprises a conically-shaped body having a bone cutting portion spaced from a barrel portion for attachment to a drive shaft. The bone cutting portion comprises a plurality of blades having a tissue cutting edge that outwardly extends from the cylindrical body. The plurality of blades is positioned about the cutting head in a spaced apart manner. The various plurality of blades are arranged at prescribed angular relationship that increases cutting efficiency and debris removal, thereby reducing reactive torque, axial loading, and head pressure during a surgical procedure.
