The growth of normal and abnormally proliferating cells can be inhibited by the introduction of agnoprotein, or biologically active fragments or derivatives of agnoprotein, into the cell in the absence of any other polyoma virus protein or viral replication.

Modulation Of Gsk-3Beta Activity And Its Different Uses

View page
US Patent:
20020115635, Aug 22, 2002
Filed:
Feb 21, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/788477
Inventors:
Pnina Fishman - Herzliya, IL
Kamel Khalili - Merion PA, US
International Classification:
A61K031/522
A61K031/52
A61K031/7076
US Classification:
514/046000, 514/263340, 514/263400
Abstract:
A method for a therapeutic treatment, comprising administering to a subject in need an effective amount of an active agent for achieving a therapeutic effect, the therapeutic effect comprises modulating GSK-3B activity in cells and said active agent is selected from the group consisting of an adenosine A1 receptor ligand (A1RL), an A2 adenosine receptor ligand (A2RL), an adenosine A3 receptor ligand (A3RL) and a combination of the same.

Modulation Of Gsk-3Beta Activity And Its Different Uses

View page
US Patent:
20020165197, Nov 7, 2002
Filed:
Feb 21, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/078712
Inventors:
Pnina Fishman - Herzliya, IL
Kamel Khalili - Merion PA, US
International Classification:
A61K031/7076
A61K031/522
US Classification:
514/046000, 514/263340
Abstract:
The present invention concerns the modulation of glycogene synthase kinase 3 (G3SK-3) by an adenosine receptor ligand. Depending on the type of ligand, the modulation may be manifested by down-regulation or up-regulation of the kinase's activity. Thus, there is provided by the present invention a method and pharmacetical compositions for achieving a therapeutic effect involved in modulating GSK-3 activity in cells by the use of an adenosine receptor ligand or a combination of ARLs. When modulation involves activation of GSK-3 activity the ARL may be an adenosine A1 receptor agonist (A1RAg), an adenosine A3 receptor agonist (A3RAg), an adenosine A2 receptor antagonist (A2RAn) or any combination of the same, while when modulation involves inhabition of GSK-3 activity the ARL may be an adenosine A1 receptor antagonist (A1RAn), an adenosine A3 receptor antagonist (A3RAn), an adenosine A2 receptor agonist (A2RAg) or any combination of the same.

Compositions And Methods For Sirna Inhibition Of Primate Polyomavirus Genes

View page
US Patent:
20070249552, Oct 25, 2007
Filed:
May 12, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/596479
Inventors:
Kamel Khalili - Merion PA, US
Jennifer Gordon - Philadelphia PA, US
International Classification:
A61K 31/713
A61K 31/7105
C07H 21/02
C12N 15/85
C12N 15/86
US Classification:
514044000, 435320100, 536023100
Abstract:
RNA interference using small interfering RNAs which are specific for mRNA produced from the JCV agnoprotein and large T antigen genes inhibits expression of these and other primate polyomavirus genes. Primate polyomavirus infection, and diseases which are associated with primate polyomavirus infection, can be treated by administering the small interfering RNAs.

Use Of An Adenosine A3 Receptor Agonist For Inhibition Of Viral Replication

View page
US Patent:
7589075, Sep 15, 2009
Filed:
Jan 13, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/466263
Inventors:
Pnina Fishman - Herzliya, IL
Kamel Khalili - Merion PA, US
Assignee:
Can-Fite Biopharma Ltd. - Petach Tikva
