Methods of treating chronic arthritis and osteoporosis which utilize both known and novel compounds which would fall under the general formula: (HO)p--A--[--OS(O). sub. 2 NR. sup. 1 R. sup. 2 ]. sub. z wherein A encompasses a wide range of values including but not limited to aryl, loweralkyl, cycloalkyl, and carbohydrates including sucrose and fructose; p is equal to the number of unreacted hydroxy groups contained on the molecule and may be zero; z is the number of --OS(O). sub. 2 NR. sup. 1 R. sup. 2 groups and is always at least one; R. sup. 1 and R. sup. 2 are selected from hydrogen, loweralkyl, carboxy and the like; a novel process for preparing the compounds is provided wherein an appropriate sulfamic acid aryl ester is reacted with a hydroxy substituted A radical which may or may not contain thereon protected carboxyl, amino or hydroxy substituents, in an aprotic solvent containing a tertiary amine base. Pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of chronic arthritis and osteoporosis are also provided.

According to the present invention a low voltage storage warehouse lighting system has a plurality of switch sets, a plurality of light sources, and a timer-relay station. Each switch set comprises a plurality of light switches electrically connected in serial with one another via low voltage wiring. The switch sets are located proximate associated file aisles. The low voltage wiring is disposed within the racks. A light source is located above each file aisle. Each light source is associated with one switch set and each said switch set associated with one light source. The timer-relay station is electrically connected via high voltage wiring to a breaker panel, via high voltage wiring to each light source, and via low voltage wiring to each switch set. The timer-relay station is adapted to transform high voltage input to low voltage and to illuminate each light source in response to electrical signals received from the switch set associated with the light source. Also, each file aisle has a corresponding preset time delay.

A TTL to CMOS buffer includes first and second field effect transistors of opposite conductivity types connected to form an inverter. The main current conducting path of a third transistor is connected in series with the current conducting paths of the first and second transistors. The control terminal of the third transistor is connected to a power supply. In a preferred embodiment, a bipolar transistor is connected between the output of the inverter circuit and the buffer output. The bipolar transistor may be a common parasitic device produced in conjunction with the CMOS circuits. This transistor offers a degree of temperature compensation to the buffer circuit output.
