Method For Providing Integrity Bounding Of Weapons

View page
US Patent:
6796213, Sep 28, 2004
Filed:
May 23, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/444938
Inventors:
Thomas L. McKendree - Huntington Beach CA
John D. Britigan - Orange CA
Hans L. Habereder - Orange CA
Assignee:
Raytheon Company - Waltham MA
International Classification:
F41F 500
US Classification:
89 111
Abstract:
A method for providing integrity bounding of a weapon for use in weapon selection and targeting is presented. The method determines an integrity bound for the weapon, the integrity bound defining a zone around the target aim-point within which engagement must occur to meet a predetermined integrity level (i. e. , a probability of engagement within an allowable engagement zone). A method of assigning weapons for engaging a target is also presented. The method includes determining an aim-point of a target and determining an alert limit for the aim-point, the alert limit comprising a zone that includes the aim-point and excludes any friendly sites. Weapon selection is then performed by selecting a weapon having an integrity bound less than or equal to the alert limit.

Munition With Integrity Gated Go/No-Go Decision

US Patent:
6896220, May 24, 2005
Filed:
May 23, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/444937
Inventors:
Thomas L. McKendree - Huntington Beach CA, US
John D. Britigan - Orange CA, US
Hans L. Habereder - Orange CA, US
Assignee:
Raytheon Company - Waltham MA
International Classification:
F41F005/00
US Classification:
244 315, 244 317, 89 111
Abstract:
A munition is presented which includes an integrity verification system that measures the integrity of the munition. When an integrity threshold is not met, engagement of the munition with a predetermined target is aborted. Also presented is a methodology for gating the engagement of the munition with the target. The methodology includes performing an integrity check of the munition after it is deployed. The method further includes aborting the engagement of the target when the integrity check of the munition fails.

US Patent:
6952001, Oct 4, 2005
Filed:
May 23, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/444936
Inventors:
Thomas L. McKendree - Huntington Beach CA, US
Hans L. Habereder - Orange CA, US
Donald R. Ormand - Coto De Caza CA, US
Assignee:
Raytheon Company - Waltham MA
International Classification:
G01S013/88
G01S015/88
G01S017/88
US Classification:
244 31, 342 52, 342 53, 342 54, 342 55, 342 61, 342 62, 342 63, 367 87, 356 401, 382100, 89 111
Abstract:
A system and method of providing situational awareness and weapon targeting is presented. The method includes determining the location of one or more enemy sites and one or more friendly sites. A “Do Not Engage” (DNE) zone is determined around each of the friendly sites and an “Allowable Engagement” (AE) zone is established around each of the enemy sites, wherein none of the AE zones overlap any of the DNE zones. An engagement plan is then determined based on the AE zones and integrity bounds on candidate munitions. The system includes a processing and communications network and a sensor element in communication with the processing and communications network. The system also includes a command control element in communication with the processing and communications network and an operating elements section in communication with the processing and communications network.

Dynamic Task Allocation In A Multi-Processor System Employing Distributed Control Processors And Distributed Arithmetic Processors

View page
US Patent:
53576322, Oct 18, 1994
Filed:
Aug 8, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/742781
Inventors:
Chao-Kuang Pian - Anaheim CA
Hans L. Habereder - Orange CA
Assignee:
Hughes Aircraft Company - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
G06F 946
G06F 9445
US Classification:
395650
Abstract:
A plurality of control processors distribute data to be processed to a corresponding plurality of arithmetic processors using a dynamic allocation arrangement. The arithmetic processors process blocks of information and communicate the blocks of processed information to the control processors for subsequent processing as necessary. The control processors are implemented to efficiently allocate tasks to the arithmetic processors and to partition blocks of data for allocation as separate partitioned tasks to the arithmetic processors. This partitioning of blocks of data to be processed as partitioned tasks significantly reduces the delay until the results are available by distributing the task over a plurality of arithmetic processors. It also significantly improves utilization of processing resources by assigning the task to a plurality of processors that may be available.
