A form stake for use in securing wooden forms around an area of concrete to be poured. The stake has a flat body with a T-shaped flange structure protruding from its front face, while the rear face of the stake is flat to slide smoothly against the face of the form as the stake is driven into the ground. The T-shaped flange structure has a central vertical rib terminating at the upper end of the stake in a horizontal driving shelf centered over the vertical rib. The driving shelf has a flat, uniform upper driving surface that forms the uppermost end of the stake. The driving shelf terminates at the flat rear face of the stake so that its upper surface can be driven level with the upper edge of the form using any non-specialized driving tool, at which point the stake tends to level itself with the upper edge of the form without being unintentionally driven below the upper edge of the form. The stake has holes for inserting fasteners through the stake into the form once the stake has been fully driven into the ground.

A form stake having a narrow vertical shank body terminating at its upper end in a wider, flat driving shelf whose outer ends extend far enough from the shank body to provide grasping or hooking surfaces on the underside of the driving shelf spaced from the shank. At least a rearmost edge or surface of the shank is aligned flush with the rearmost edge of the driving shelf, allowing the entirety of the stake to be driven smoothly down into the ground adjacent the face of a form board. In a preferred form the stake includes reinforcing flanges extending from the underside of the driving shelf to an upper end of the shank, the flanges terminating short of the outer ends of the driving shelf.

The screed form stake has a cradle portion with a horizontal top surface. A screed rod groove in the top surface extends from a front wall to a rear wall of the cradle portion. First and second side flanges extend downward from the cradle portion and have rear flange surfaces in a first vertical plane. A central flange is integral with the first and second side flanges, extends downward from the cradle portion, and extends forward from the first and second side flanges. A soil penetration point is formed on the bottom of the screed stake between the side flanges and the central flange. A stake driver has a bottom surface, that engages the stake top wall, and a top surface. A screed rod shaped member on the bottom of the stake driver is seated in the screed rod groove and has an exposed elevation measuring surface.
