Feb 19, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/369004
Inventors:
Glendell N. Gilmore - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
H01H009/00
US Classification:
335207, 335205, 335152
Abstract:
A reed switch apparatus utilizes one or more reed switches to communicate with one or more devices. In one configuration, the reed switch apparatus utilizes a single magnetic field to simultaneously activate two or more reed switches. In another configuration, two or more reed switches, each acting independent of one another are simultaneously activated by a single magnetic field. Additionally, a method of controlling at least two devices includes exposing a reed switch apparatus to a single magnetic field. Yet another method includes a activating a device via the use of a single reed switch mounted to a portion of a warehouse structure.

Abstract:
A reed switch device connects to a door facing of a door. The reed switch device includes an impact unit, adapted to stop movement of the door, and a reed switch. In one configuration, the reed switch device replace a pre-existing part on the door facing. In another configuration, the reed switch device is an adaptation of a pre-existing part on the door facing. Additional configurations include an impact unit, which receives a reed switch, and a kit which enables connection of the reed switch to the impact unit. Additionally, methods of installing a reed switch device to a door facing are disclosed In a first method, an impact unit with a reed switch is mounted to the door. In a second method a pre-existing part of the door is utilized. In a third method, a pre-existing part of the door of the door is adapted.

US Patent:
57238359, Mar 3, 1998
Filed:
May 29, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/655180
Inventors:
Glendell N. Gilmore - Houston TX
International Classification:
H01H 316
H01H 900
US Classification:
200 6171
Abstract:
A composite reed switch-bracket which is suitable for mounting on conventional roll-up or overhead doors to avoid damage caused by shocks or alignment displacement of the reed switch during usage. The electric magnetically actuated switch is mounted with a non-magnetic bracket and the switch is enclosed in a close fitting rubber or cover to maintain the switch that is not securely fixed and that is suspended in a gas filled air pocket to prevent or minimize breakage of the glass reed or other enclosure of the switch during usage. This composite reed bracket switch is intended for use with any and all manufacturer's alarm products.

US Patent:
20190114882, Apr 18, 2019
Filed:
Dec 12, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/217850
Inventors:
Glendell Gilmore - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
G08B 13/08
H01H 1/66
B65D 88/00
H01H 36/00
H01H 50/16
B65D 25/02
B65D 90/00
B65D 88/12
Abstract:
A transportable container assembly including a transportable container defining an enclosed interior space and having an opening member cooperatively engaging a mounting frame. The opening member has a closed position and an open position and access to the interior space is permitted in the open position. A localized device or system is attached to the transportable container and is coupled to an electrical power source. A reed switch apparatus coupled to the transportable container communicates the position of the opening member to the localized device or system. The localized device or system provides a localized function depending on the reported position of the opening member. The localized function includes at least one of a group consisting of a local lighting function, local locking mechanism action and local refrigeration system action/function. The localized device or system communicates the position of the opening member to a remote device or system at a location remote from the transportable container. The remote device or system is capable of providing remote monitoring and control functions or actions at the transportable container depending on the communicated position of the opening member.
