Animalian Pot Cover Incorporating A Detachable Miniature Greenhouse

View page
US Patent:
7234271, Jun 26, 2007
Filed:
Sep 11, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/938697
Inventors:
Andrew M. Tolley - East Providence RI, US
George H. Reekie - Newport RI, US
International Classification:
A01G 13/02
US Classification:
47 295, 47 69
Abstract:
A pot cover that is comprised of detachable components and which can be used in combination with any conventional garden pot or any other suitable container, for purposes of facilitating the propagation of seedlings or seed germination, and which also resembles a novel animalian figure appearing to be living in the pot. The sections () and () of the pot cover connect together via clips () or other conventional connecting device to enable the sections to be easily connected and disconnected from each other and from the pot as required. The user would fill a pot with soil medium, and add seeds and water. Then connect the sections of the pot cover together, and then insert the connected sections of the pot cover into the upper rim of the pot, so that the pot cover sits securely on top of the pot, with the outside bottom edge () and () of the pot cover abutting the inner top rim of the pot. The user can, when desired, easily remove any or all sections of the pot cover, to facilitate watering and general care of the seeds or seedlings. The rear section of the pot cover () would usually be partially transparent to allow light and heat to enter the pot, improving propagation of seeds planted in a soil medium in the pot.

Expandable Writing Instrument

View page
US Patent:
8480323, Jul 9, 2013
Filed:
Apr 30, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/771509
Inventors:
Rebecca Gregory - Wrentham MA, US
George Reekie - Bristol RI, US
Michael Roberts - Tiverton RI, US
Donald Santos - Rehoboth MA, US
Frank Torngren - Attleboro MA, US
Assignee:
A.T.X. International, Inc. - Lincoln RI
International Classification:
B43K 24/04
B43K 24/00
US Classification:
401117, 401116
Abstract:
An expandable writing instrument has a writing end body section and a rear body section mounted to the writing end body section for relative axial and non-rotational movement between an extended position with the rear body section spaced away from the writing end body section, and a retracted position with the rear body section closer to the writing end body section. A spring in the writing end body section biases the cartridge upwardly. A helix cylinder is mounted for rotation and axial movement in the rear body section with a peg of the rear body section sliding in a track of the helix cylinder. The track is a closed loop with left and right hand helixes so that axial movement of the rear body section causes rotation of the helix cylinder continuously in one rotational direction. A shuttle receives a cartridge body and is mounted for axial movement in the helix cylinder. A shuttle cam on the shuttle is mounted for axial non-rotational movement to the writing end body section.

Multi-Function Writing Instrument With Propulsion Mechanism

US Patent:
20120315074, Dec 13, 2012
Filed:
Jun 9, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/156807
Inventors:
Michael Roberts - Tiverton RI, US
George Reekie - Bristol RI, US
Ramon T. Kingsley - Providence RI, US
International Classification:
B43K 27/00
B43K 24/10
US Classification:
401 32, 401 99
Abstract:
A multi-function writing instrument includes a front section having a writing point opening and a rear section having an eraser opening. The rear section and the front section are rotatably connected to each other. A plurality of marking tips are disposed in the front section. One of the marking tips is a pencil lead marking tip. The marking tips are alternately selectable for extension through the writing point opening. An eraser holder is movably disposed in the rear section. An eraser is mounted in the eraser holder. The eraser holder is selectable for extension through the eraser opening. A means for simultaneously propelling the pencil lead marking tip through the writing point opening and the eraser through the eraser opening upon rotation of the front section relative to the rear section is housed in the multi-function writing instrument.
