US Patent:
7674973, Mar 9, 2010
Filed:
Apr 18, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/106133
Inventors:
George Cardas - Bandon OR, US
International Classification:
H01B 7/00
US Classification:
174 36, 174102 R, 174108
Abstract:
A conductor includes a central element having a length, a plurality of insulated strands disposed about the central element in at least first and second concentric layers, a layer of a dielectric material having a velocity of propagation disposed around the plurality of insulated strands. Each of the plurality of insulated strands has a conductive element and a layer of insulative material disposed around the conductive element and a length approximately equal to an inverse of the velocity of propagation of associated dielectric materials multiplied by the product of the length of the central element and the number one hundred.

Microphone Diaphragms Defined By Logarithmic Curves And Microphones For Use Therewith

View page
US Patent:
20060090955, May 4, 2006
Filed:
Nov 4, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/981802
Inventors:
George Cardas - Bandon OR, US
International Classification:
H04R 7/00
G10K 13/00
US Classification:
181158000
Abstract:
Microphone diaphragms are provided having an active area with a periphery defined by at least a portion of a logarithmic curve. In some embodiments, the periphery is defined by at least a portion of a golden spiral. The microphone diaphragms may be used in pressure microphones.

Earphone System

View page
US Patent:
20120163648, Jun 28, 2012
Filed:
Dec 21, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/333816
Inventors:
George Cardas - Bandon OR, US
International Classification:
H04R 1/10
US Classification:
381380
Abstract:
An earphone system comprising an ear canal portion with an interior surface having a logarithmic spiral taper shape, a base portion, and a speaker, wherein the ear canal portion and the base portion detachably engage to hold the speaker between and within the ear canal portion and the base portion. In some embodiments, the logarithmic spiral taper shape may further be a golden spiral taper shape, a Fibonacci spiral taper shape, or a cochleal taper shape.

Multi-Strand Electrical Cable

View page
US Patent:
49805177, Dec 25, 1990
Filed:
Sep 25, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/411677
Inventors:
George F. Cardas - Ontario CA
Assignee:
TP Orthodontics, Inc. - Westville IN
International Classification:
H01B 508
H01B 510
US Classification:
174127R
Abstract:
A multi-strand electrical cable having electrically conductive strands of different cross-sections, i. e. cross-sectional areas, arranged in ascending order of strand cross-section from the center toward the outer circumference of the cable and sized in accordance with an irrational and preferably golden ratio progression in such a way that larger strands are located outwardly toward the cable circumference relative to smaller strans and stabilize the smaller strands against resonant vibration in a manner such as to reduce cable resonance produced by fluctuating current flow through the cable.

Electrical Connector For Plural Circuits

View page
US Patent:
60041668, Dec 21, 1999
Filed:
Sep 29, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/939766
Inventors:
George F. Cardas - Bandon OR
International Classification:
H01R 430
US Classification:
439801
Abstract:
An electrical connector has separable members for clamping plural conduits for separable circuits for electronic equipment. The members are clamped by a securement member extending through passages in the members and secured by a fastener. A plurality of prongs extend through openings in the members to engage electrical conductors to external circuits.

Multi-Strand Conductor Cable Having Its Strands Sized According To The Golden Section

View page
US Patent:
46281517, Dec 9, 1986
Filed:
Dec 30, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/814727
Inventors:
George F. Cardas - Ontario CA
International Classification:
H01B 700
H01B 1100
US Classification:
174114R
Abstract:
Optimum signal/power transmission characteristics are realized in a cable containing a plurality of individually insulated conductors which vary in size one to another wherein the ratio of the size of one conductor to the next larger conductor is about 0. 62. Normally, at least three different sizes of conductors will be employed in a cable wherein each size classification differs from the next larger or smaller size classification by the specified ratio. This particular ratio is often called the golden section and is the ratio between the two sizes in which the lesser of the two is to the greater as the greater is to the sum of both.

Signal Summing Non-Microphonic Differential Microphone

View page
US Patent:
53352823, Aug 2, 1994
Filed:
Jul 22, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/918421
Inventors:
George F. Cardas - Bandon OR
International Classification:
H04R 300
US Classification:
381 92
Abstract:
A microphone comprises a plurality of oppositely oriented electroacoustic transducer pairs arranged in a body or a resonator cavity and electrically algebraically summed, whereby ambient acoustic shock impulses and vibration induce opposite electrical phase output, while an audio signal entering an acoustic channel to the transducer cavity produces a damped, in-phase, summed output, greatly enhancing the signal to noise ratio and producing a high output level that is substantially non-microphonic.

Loudspeaker Using Contour Field Hard Magnet Poles And Yoke Construction

View page
US Patent:
20170265006, Sep 14, 2017
Filed:
May 31, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/609362
Inventors:
- Bandon OR, US
George Francis Cardas - Bandon OR, US
International Classification:
H04R 9/02
Abstract:
Several embodiments of the instant invention incorporate a loudspeaker design utilizing hard magnetic poles and yokes. The magnetic field of the loudspeaker is created and guided with a series of critically formed hard magnetic structures guiding the magnetic field from the primary magnet to the gap in a loop of hard magnetic material, replacing the soft magnetic materials normally used. Magnetization of the components of the hard magnetic loudspeaker driver with radial pole patterns—a yoke radial magnet, a washer pole magnet and a yoke upper ring magnet—is performed with these components in their final assembly relationships.
