Abstract:
Insulated scuttle covers configured for placement within a building scuttle opening are provided. The insulated scuttle cover includes a scuttle panel configured to cover the building scuttle opening and further configured to be supported when positioned within the building scuttle opening. An insulative assembly is attached to the scuttle panel. The insulative assembly includes insulation material encapsulated by a jacket. The insulated scuttle cover is configured to prevent or substantially retard the flow of air passing through the building scuttle opening.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to asphalt generally, and more particularly to polymeric products containing asphalt-based additives to achieve various properties and/or reduce cost. In one embodiment, this invention relates the use of asphalt as a resin replacement and/or a colorant in a plastic product. In one such embodiment it relates to rigid foamed polymeric board wherein asphalt is added to increase insulating capability of the polymeric foamed board.

Abstract:
A compound includes a combination of materials for manufacturing a resin based product. The materials include a blend of asphalt and resin. The asphalt functions as at least one of a colorant to change the color of the product and a resin replacement to reduce the amount of resin in the product. The asphalt is included in an amount within a range of from 0.1% to 40% by weight of the compound. A pellet for use in the compound includes from 40% to 90% asphalt and from 10% to 60% resin by weight of the pellet. The asphalt has a softening point from 200 F. to 350 F.

A machine for distributing blowing insulation material from a package of compressed loosefill insulation material is provided. The machine includes a chute having an inlet portion and outlet portion. The inlet portion is configured to receive the package of compressed loosefill insulation material with the package having a substantially vertical orientation. The chute has a volumetric size. A lower unit is configured to receive the compressed loosefill insulation material exiting the outlet portion of the chute. The lower unit includes a plurality of shredders and a discharge mechanism. The discharge mechanism is configured to discharge conditioned loosefill insulation material into an airstream. The lower unit has a volumetric size. The machine has a volumetric size equal to the total of a volumetric size of the chute and the volumetric size of the lower unit, and wherein the machine has a maximum volumetric size of 12.0 cubic feet.
