Isenberg Honors Scholarship Recepient
Commonwealth Honors College - UMass Amherst
As one of a select group, I was awarded the Isenberg Honors Scholarship heading into my junior undergraduate year for the remaining two years at UMass Amherst. The annual award recognizes students who excel both academically and extracurricularly with a monetary award of $20,000.
Student Commencement Speaker
Commonwealth Honors College - UMass Amherst
As part of a rigorous selection process, I was chosen as the student speaker at the 2012 Commonwealth Honors College Graduation Commencement. The annual honor is given to one graduating honors student. My speech was delivered in approximately seven minutes, and addressed the 200-300 graduates of the Commonwealth Honors College along with their respective family and friends, totaling a venue of 5,000 attendees. (can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Fn6qnNHWmw) Also in attendance was the Dean of Commonwealth Honors College, who selects the annual student speaker, along wtih various faculty and staff members from departments across the UMass Amherst campus.
