Abstract:
A method for resource management in a personal area network includes providing () a plurality of communication devices with sharable resources on the personal area network. Each communication device has a resource manager able to communicate and manage the available resources of its resident device on the personal area network. Any one of the resource managers can be assigned () as a master resource manager for the personal area network to coordinate () information transfer and allocate available resources from the plurality of communication devices. The resources of each communication device is registered () in the personal area network with the master resource manager, which coordinates () information transfer with the devices when resources are requested () from the personal area network.

Described is a method for regulating power consumption during page scanning operations in a Bluetooth enabled communication device () having a power source () and a processor () that is configured to communicate according to a plurality of page scanning intervals. The method include assessing trigger events () to dynamically adjust page scanning interval output values () and accordingly adjusting a power consumption level in accordance with the page scanning interval output values. The variable page scanning intervals change from idle, slow and fast according to their type.
