View page
US Patent:
6728345, Apr 27, 2004
Filed:
Jun 8, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/876979
Inventors:
David A. Glowny - Milford CT
Phil Min Ni - Danbury CT
John E. Richter - Trumbull CT
Assignee:
Dictaphone Corporation - Stratford CT
International Classification:
H04M 104
US Classification:
379 8822, 379111, 37920201
Abstract:
A system and method for monitoring a telephone switching environment. In a preferred embodiment the system and method identify telephone call segments that relate to one telephone call and construct a data representation of a lifetime of the telephone call, using data regarding telephony events associated with the telephone call segments of the telephone call. The system and method are also capable of using the data representation to display a graphical representation of a lifetime of a telephone call.

US Patent:
6785369, Aug 31, 2004
Filed:
Jun 8, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/876954
Inventors:
David A. Diamond - Southbury CT
David A. Glowny - Milford CT
Trong Nguyen - Bridgeport CT
Phil Min Ni - Danbury CT
John E. Richter - Trumbull CT
Assignee:
Dictaphone Corporation - Stratford CT
International Classification:
H04M 1100
US Classification:
379 8822, 379 8809
Abstract:
A system and method for playing back data segments stored in one or more locations and managed by one or more playback servers. In a preferred embodiment the system and method receive data describing data segments to be played back; transmit notifications to the playback servers to prepare for playback; and transmit playback requests to the playback servers. The system and method are also capable of playing back the segments in a specified order and such that gaps between the segments are minimized. Additionally, a graphical display can be provided to display the status of the segments being played back.

System And Method For Integrating Call Record Information

US Patent:
6785370, Aug 31, 2004
Filed:
Jun 8, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/876958
Inventors:
David A. Glowny - Milford CT
Phil Min Ni - Danbury CT
John E. Richter - Trumbull CT
Assignee:
Dictaphone Corporation - Stratford CT
International Classification:
H04M 164
US Classification:
379 8822, 379 8809, 379 8811, 379111
Abstract:
A system and method for monitoring a telephone switching environment. In a preferred embodiment the system and method construct a call record for each telephone call; receive data regarding telephony events; match a received telephony event with a call record; update the matching call record based on the received telephony event data; and combine the updated call record with data indicating the location of recorded audio data for the segment of the call, to generate a master call record representing the lifetime of the telephone call. Additionally, the system and method are capable of assembling and playing back segments of telephone calls using the recorder locations described in the master call record for each telephone call, and of using the master call record to display a graphical representation of the telephone call.

System And Method For Data Recording

US Patent:
6937706, Aug 30, 2005
Filed:
Jun 8, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/876978
Inventors:
Valerie Bscheider - Southbury CT, US
David A. Glowny - Milford CT, US
John E. Richter - Trumbull CT, US
Assignee:
Dictaphone Corporation - Stratford CT
International Classification:
H04M001/64
US Classification:
379 8822, 379111
Abstract:
A system and method for monitoring a telephone switching environment. In a preferred embodiment the system and method simultaneously monitor both an SMDR link and a real-time CTI link, gather information about calls from both sources, and combine gathered information into a single data model of the telephony activity. A server is provided which in a preferred embodiment comprises two main modules: a translation module and a message router module. Several translation modules can be used—one for each PBX interface or vendor API layer. The server accepts data from a PBX or similar equipment in a telephone switch environment, and can use both real-time CTI communications links and asynchronous information sources such as the Station Message Detail Recording (SMDR) interface. The server then translates and combines the various types of data into a unified, normalized format.

Method And Apparatus For Establishing Communications Sessions In A Remote Resource Control Environment

US Patent:
56529082, Jul 29, 1997
Filed:
Jun 7, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/474528
Inventors:
Francis Archibald Brown Douglas - Bethesda MD
David Andrew Glowny - Naugatuck CT
Colette Anne Mastrangelo - Danbury CT
Paul Melvin Mayer - Middlebury CT
Peter David Shier - Danbury CT
Jenngang Shih - Bronx NY
Robin Smith - San Leandro CA
Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
International Classification:
G06F 1100
US Classification:
395800
Abstract:
A system for providing distributed control of a resource with centralized configuration management. A network of distributed workstations is provided for controlling a resource such as a large mainframe computer. Server workstations for applying control commands to the resource are attached to each resource, preferably through redundant connections. Remote client consoles are defined which may be connected to the server for control of that resource. Server and resource location and primary and fallback connection paths are maintained by a centralized control server. Upon client console request, the central control server causes the server workstation associated with a particular resource to establish a control session between the server and the client console. A record of each dynamic connection is maintained by the central control server. Upon failure of a client console, the server accesses central server fallback information and establishes a fallback connection with an operational client console.

US Patent:
58058974, Sep 8, 1998
Filed:
Jan 9, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/369991
Inventors:
David Andrew Glowny - Naugatuck CT
Assignee:
International Business Machines Corporation - Armonk NY
International Classification:
G06F 714
US Classification:
395712
Abstract:
A system and method for remote software installation and maintenance. A number of workstations are connected by a network. Each has basic peer-to-peer communication ability providing remote file transfer and remote command execution. An arbitrarily selected workstation captures user installation requirements and controls installation and maintenance processing. Task lists are selected based upon requirements and the steps of the task list are executed locally, or remotely, to satisfy the installation or maintenance requirement. Task list process is logged so that processing may be resumed following a failure or intentional suspension.
