Abstract:
Instructions are provided for creating a memory efficient matrix () within a memory source (). The memory efficient matrix () includes a plurality of map containers () stored within array cells () of an array (). The map containers () include a plurality of map container cells (), each of which contains a key value () and a data value (). If a map container () does not contain any data, a default value such a null cell or null value is returned upon query. The memory efficient matrix () can be read and written to by specifying a row value and a column value. The column value is treated as a key value () and the row value identifies a particular map container () by virtue of the array cells () of the array ().
