Method And Apparatus For Processing, Displaying And Communicating Images

View page
US Patent:
6388654, May 14, 2002
Filed:
Oct 2, 1998
Appl. No.:
09/166211
Inventors:
Daniel M. Platzker - Saratoga CA
Tsakhi Segal - Tel-Aviv, IL
Liel Biran - Kfar Saba, IL
Gilad Halevy - Jerusalem, IL
Assignee:
Tegrity, Inc.
International Classification:
G09G 500
US Classification:
345156, 345 12, 345 9
Abstract:
The application discloses an apparatus and method of processing images, hand-drawn or written on a suitable Writing Surface, viewed by an Image Sensor such as a video camera, and captured by an image sensing circuit (i. e. , frame grabber or similar) used for acquisition of image frames by a computer. More particularly, this invention discriminates among changes detected in these Viewed Images in order to identify and disregard non-informational, transient and/or redundant content. Removal of such content, a writers arm for example, from the captured image facilitates isolating meaningful changes, specifically intentional new Writings and Erasures appearing on the Writing Surface. Preserving only meaningful changes on the surface promotes optimized: âvideo imageâ storage and compressed transmission of a subset of the visual data, when used in conjunction with digital computers at remote locations optionally equipped with projected image and/or conventional computer display systems. The invention provides for displaying a composite of the remote sites changes, transmitted over conventional communications channels, omitting Local Markings where the display device is a projector. The preferred embodiment of the present invention is applied to remote presentation aids, in particular âwhiteboardsâ such as those typically used in educational lectures and commercial sales and training settings, and in particular to remote whiteboards.

Synthesis Using Multiple Synthesis Engine Configurations

View page
US Patent:
20100218146, Aug 26, 2010
Filed:
Feb 24, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/391926
Inventors:
Daniel M. Platzker - Saratoga CA, US
Pankaj Mitra - San Jose CA, US
Alexander Vals - Cupertino CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/50
US Classification:
716 4, 716 18
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are representative embodiments of methods, systems, and apparatus for performing synthesis. For example, in one exemplary method disclosed herein, a high-level description of a complete circuit design is partitioned into a plurality of sections. Two or more synthesis engine configurations are selected for a respective one of the sections. The respective one of the sections is synthesized using the two or more selected synthesis engine configurations, thereby generating two or more gate-level descriptions. A gate-level description of the complete circuit design is generated that includes at least a portion of one of the gate-level descriptions. Computer-readable media storing instructions for causing a computer to perform any of the disclosed methods are also disclosed herein.

Single Event Upset Mitigation For Electronic Design Synthesis

View page
US Patent:
20130198701, Aug 1, 2013
Filed:
Jan 31, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/362605
Inventors:
Daniel Platzker - Saratoga CA, US
Jeffrey Alan Kaady - San Jose CA, US
Ashish Kapoor - West Linn OR, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/50
US Classification:
716102
Abstract:
Technology is disclosed herein that provides for modifying a circuit design to reduce the potential occurrence of single event upset errors during operation of a device manufactured from the synthesized design. After a circuit design has been synthesized to a particular abstraction level, a static timing analysis procedure is run on the design. The slack values for paths within the design are determined based upon the static timing analysis procedure. Subsequently, delays are added to selected paths within the design based upon the slack values.

Interactive Projected Video Image Display System

View page
US Patent:
55282636, Jun 18, 1996
Filed:
Jun 15, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/259887
Inventors:
Daniel M. Platzker - Saratoga CA
Yoav Agmon - Los Altos CA
Rueven Ackner - Palo Alto CA
International Classification:
G09G 500
US Classification:
345156
Abstract:
An interactive projected image video display system which includes a computer for generating video images, a projection apparatus coupled to the video output port of the computer for projecting computer-generated video images onto a projection screen, and at least one video camera for visually recording the projected image. The computer includes a frame grabber board coupled to the video camera for capturing individual frames or series of frames from the video recording of projected image. The captured images are compared to the computer generated images to detect for the presence of recognizable features introduced onto the projected image by a user to instruct the computer to trigger a computer operation. The system can also simulates a mouse to be used with any off the shelf application that uses a regular mouse.
