Abstract:
The invention concerns a catch basin installation system and method wherein a catch basin is situated below ground and has a neck extending substantially vertically upward through the ground to provide access to subterranean sewage or drain lines. During installation, an adjustable collar is situated around the neck of the basin at substantially ground level or some other predetermined or desired level. The portion of the basin neck extending above the tin adjustable collar is removed by using the adjustable collar as a guide. The system and method enable a user to quickly set the catch basin so that its top edge is at the desired or predetermined level (such as ground level) so that, for example, when a grate is situated on an end of the vertically-extending neck, the grate is situated at substantially ground level.
