Circuit Board Test Device Comprising Contact Needles Which Are Driven In Diagonally Protruding Manner

View page
US Patent:
7336087, Feb 26, 2008
Filed:
May 3, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/555514
Inventors:
Torsten Körting - Bremen, DE
Clayton Depue - Arlington VA, US
Thomas Lück - Hamburg, DE
Assignee:
Scorpion Technologies AG - Hamburg
International Classification:
G01R 31/02
G01R 31/26
US Classification:
324758, 324754, 324761
Abstract:
The invention relates to printed circuit board test devices () comprising a support () receiving a circuit board () by said board's edges, said board being designed to be fitted as needed with electrical or electronic components (), said devices further comprising at least one needle () which is connected to an electrical test device () and which shall electrically contact contact areas () on the board (), the needle () being obliquely displaceable by a needle drive () in the needle direction, the needle drive being adjustable—by at least one holding-fixture drive ()—in a adjustment plane () which is parallel to the circuit board (), the drives () being actuated by a needle control () to spatially position the needle tip () at a predetermined spatial coordinate, said devices () being characterized in that it includes a distance measuring device (′) designed to measure the distance between the adjustment plane () and the circuit board (′) at least at one site and to transmit the measured values to the drive control (), this drive control in turn being designed that, prior to the contacting time at the contact areas (′), appropriate correction based on the measured distance values, of the spatial coordinates of the contact areas (′) shall be carried out.

Digital Subscriber Line Multiplexer

View page
US Patent:
20010008534, Jul 19, 2001
Filed:
Dec 28, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/749669
Inventors:
Clayton Depue - Arlington VA, US
International Classification:
H04J001/00
H04J003/04
US Classification:
370/485000, 370/535000
Abstract:
A system and method for increasing the number of lines receivable by a subscriber of digital telecommunication services when the pre-existing interior lines of the subscriber's premises is less than the number of digital lines to be received is provided. A master multiplexor is located at the subscriber's side of a network interface connector and is connected to a slave demultiplexor located within the subscriber's premises via an interior, pre-existing twisted-pair line. In a first embodiment, two or more digital lines extend from the central office of the service provider to the subscriber's premises terminating at the network interface connection. Digital data received from the digital lines is multiplexed by the master multiplexor across the interior, pre-existing twisted pair line to the slave demultiplexor. The slave demultiplexor demultiplexes the digital data and provides it to two or more digital lines located within the subscriber's premises to which digital data receiving devices are connected. In a second embodiment, one or more digital lines and one or more analog lines from the central office are multiplexed by the master multiplexor to the slave demultiplexor which provides the demultiplexed digital data to digital lines and analog data to analog lines, both of which, located within the subscriber's premises. In a third embodiment, broadband services for multiple tenants comprising multiple protocols are provided over one or more lines from the CO to a NIC at a multi-tenant dwelling. The requirements for each subscriber in a multi-tenant dwelling are then subdivided by a master multiplexor, and multiplexed, if required, over one or more single interior twisted-pair to a slave demultiplexor at the respective tenants premises.

Circuit Board Testing Switch

View page
US Patent:
59330198, Aug 3, 1999
Filed:
Mar 5, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/812968
Inventors:
Clayton S. Depue - Arlington VA
International Classification:
G01R 3102
G01R 3126
US Classification:
324761
Abstract:
An electro-mechanical reed relay in-circuit test fixture switch is inserted onto a wrapped wire pin extending from the bottom of a socket holding a spring-loaded nail inside a bed-of-nails or equivalent testing fixture. The switch is located at the circuit board being tested and is connected between the pin under test and a remote testing unit. Only the switches required to contact specific nodes for a specific test are actuated, i. e. moving the subject pin's reed relay switch to a closed position, during the actual test sequence. All remaining test wires are turned off, i. e. opened, releasing the electrical connection of long test wires from each of the nodes. Alternatively, all switches can be NC and individual switches, or groups of switches, can be opened to disconnect the electrical connections of the long test wires. Additional testing is performed in a similar method by repeating the steps above for various test sequences and nodes.

Subscriber Line Multiplexer

US Patent:
62122045, Apr 3, 2001
Filed:
Nov 22, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/562197
Inventors:
Clayton S. Depue - Arlington VA
International Classification:
H04J 302
US Classification:
370485
Abstract:
A system for the connection of any standard analog terminal subscriber telephone equipment, e. g. analog telephone, facsimile, and analog computer modem devices, to be utilized concurrently at a location interior to the building that is serviced by the single conventional two conductor telephone wire. The simple installation of the present invention's Master Subscriber Line Multiplexer Unit at the nearest interior or exterior location of the attachment of the telephone service provider's two conductor analog subscriber lines and the premise owned interior conventional two conductor analog telephone subscriber wire. The Master units input are two of the telephone service provider's two conductor analog subscriber lines. The control and voice and data signals are then multiplexed and transmitted over an interior conventional two conductor analog telephone subscriber wire to a remote location service by the wire. The present invention's Slave Subscriber Line Demultiplexer Unit provides demultiplexion, detection, and properly reproduces the control, data, and voice signals for each separate analog two conductor telephone subscriber lines.
