Methods And Systems For Determining Semantic Location Information

View page
US Patent:
20190116458, Apr 18, 2019
Filed:
Sep 11, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/127604
Inventors:
- Mountain View CA, US
Chetan Bhadricha - Fremont CA, US
Tanmay Khirwadkar - San Francisco CA, US
International Classification:
H04W 4/02
G06F 17/30
H04L 29/08
H04W 64/00
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for determining semantic location information. In particular, one or more computing devices can receive, from an application program executing on at least one of the one or more computing devices, an application programming interface (API) call requesting semantic information about a location of at least one of the one or more computing devices. Responsive to receiving the API call, the one or more computing devices can determine semantic information for the location and can return the semantic information for the location to the application program via the API. The semantic information for the location can comprise data semantically identifying the location and indicating whether a user associated with the one or more computing devices is stationary at the location or in transit from the location.

Determining Semantic Travel Modes

US Patent:
20170347232, Nov 30, 2017
Filed:
May 25, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/163912
Inventors:
- Mountain View CA, US
Bhaskar Mehta - Menlo Park CA, US
Chetan Bhadricha - Rego Park NY, US
Stefano Maggiolo - London, GB
International Classification:
H04W 4/02
G01C 21/20
H04W 4/04
Abstract:
Systems and methods for determining semantic travel modes are provided. In one embodiment, a method can include obtaining, by one or more computing devices, a plurality of location reports from a user device. Each of the plurality of location reports can include at least a set of data indicative of an associated location and time. The method can further include obtaining, by the one or more computing devices, one or more geographic signals that comprise a set of data associated with one or more geographic locations. The method can include determining, by the one or more computing devices, a semantic travel mode associated with the user device based at least in part on the plurality of location reports and the one or more geographic signals.

Filed:
May 25, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/163975
Inventors:
- Mountain View CA, US
Bhaskar Mehta - Menlo Park CA, US
Chetan Bhadricha - Rego Park NY, US
Stefano Maggiolo - London, GB
International Classification:
H04W 4/02
H04W 40/24
H04L 12/24
H04W 88/02
H04W 84/12
Abstract:
Systems and methods for determining semantic travel modes are provided. In one embodiment, a method can include obtaining a plurality of location reports from a user device. Each of the plurality of location reports can include at least a set of data indicative of an associated location and time. The method can further include determining a travel period associated with the user device based on the plurality of location reports. The method can include obtaining one or more personalization signals that include a set of data associated with a semantic travel mode. The method can include determining that the user device is associated with the semantic travel mode during the travel period based at least in part on the plurality of location reports and the one or more personalization signals.
