Filed:
Jul 22, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/624401
Inventors:
Jasminka Dizdarevic - Austin TX, US
Simon Richardson - Pflugerville TX, US
Mark Wuthnow - Austin TX, US
Jessie Lee - Austin TX, US
Richard Man-keung Tam - Austin TX, US
Mark Enzmann - Roswell GA, US
Charles Jamile Hamadi - Roswell GA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Mobility II LLC - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04Q 7/20
US Classification:
4554351, 4554321, 455433, 455428, 4554323
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for registering a subscriber to a communications network. One method receives a registration request to access a first communications network. The registration request is routed to a second communications network based upon an international mobile subscriber identity number associated with the subscriber. The international mobile subscriber identity number allows the subscriber to register with the second communications network.

Methods And Apparatuses For Communicating With Wireless Peripheral Devices

View page
US Patent:
7587169, Sep 8, 2009
Filed:
Nov 13, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/938973
Inventors:
Charles Jamile Hamadi - Roswell GA, US
Stephen Emille Chin - Norcross GA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Mobility II LLC - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04B 7/00
US Classification:
455 412, 4555561, 455418, 455419, 455420
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for communicating with wireless peripheral devices. One method receives a communication for the wireless peripheral device. Wireless signals, such as activation, initialization, or registration signals/messages, are communicated to the wireless peripheral device utilizing more than one wireless technology standard. When the wireless peripheral device responds, the communication is forwarded to the wireless peripheral device using a single wireless technology standard.

Systems And Methods For Providing Service Migration Between First And Second Cellular Technologies

View page
US Patent:
7620034, Nov 17, 2009
Filed:
Aug 2, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/910140
Inventors:
Nhan Thanh Tran - Lawrenceville GA, US
Charles Jamile Hamadi - Roswell GA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Mobility II LLC - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04L 12/66
H04W 4/00
US Classification:
370352, 455461
Abstract:
Systems and methods for a call flow for a mobile directory number (MDN) from a first phone to a second phone which has been intra-service ported. The system includes: a first switch of a first technology; a second switch of a second technology; and a local number portability database (LNP). The LNP stores local routing numbers (LRN) associated with the MDN. The WLNP system determines whether a call, from the first phone, is received by a public switched telephone network (PSTN) or the first switch. If the call is received by the PSTN with the LRN, the call is routed to the second switch based on the LRN. If the call is received by the first switch without the LRN, the first switch queries the LNP for the LRN and the call is routed intra-carrier to the second switch.

Methods And Apparatuses For Communicating With Wireless Peripheral Devices

US Patent:
7873317, Jan 18, 2011
Filed:
Aug 4, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/535098
Inventors:
Charles Jamile Hamadi - Roswell GA, US
Stephen Emille Chin - Norcross GA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Mobility II LLC - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04B 7/00
US Classification:
455 412, 4555561, 455418, 455419, 455420
Abstract:
A wireless communication system includes a wireless peripheral device, a computer device, and a wireless interface capable of communicating with the peripheral device and the computer device. The wireless interface is configured to receive a communication directed to the wireless peripheral device from the computer, transmit wireless signals using a plurality of wireless technology standards at the same time to the wireless peripheral device, and receive an acknowledgement message from the wireless peripheral device. The acknowledgement message identifies at least one wireless technology standard utilized by the wireless peripheral device. The wireless interface is further configured to cancel transmission of any unacknowledged wireless signals, the unacknowledged wireless signals being those wireless signals not utilized by the wireless peripheral device, and forward the communication to the wireless peripheral device using one of the at least one wireless technology standards utilized by the wireless peripheral device.

Dynamic Location-Based Rating For Prepaid Calls

View page
US Patent:
8090344, Jan 3, 2012
Filed:
Jul 23, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/781459
Inventors:
Charles Hamadi - Roswell GA, US
Mustafa Anwar Kazmi - Atlanta GA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Mobility II LLC - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04M 11/00
US Classification:
455405, 455406, 455407, 455408, 455409, 4554561, 4554563, 4554564, 4554565
Abstract:
A method and system for streamlining the calculation of a rate for a prepaid wireless call is provided. A mobile subscriber can be billed at one rate when she is within her home network and at a different rate when she is roaming in another network or can be billed at a special rate if she is within a location subject to the special rate. A time period for charging a call is allocated by the Service Control Point (SCP) and reported to the Mobile Switching Center (MSC) in the case of an outgoing call or a Gateway Mobile Switching Center (GMSC) in the case of an incoming call. A message from the MSC or GMSC to the SCP reporting an expiration of the first time period can contain information regarding a location of the prepaid subscriber. Thus, the next time period allocated by the SCP for the call can be billed at a rate that reflects the mobile subscriber's location at that time as reported by the MSC or GMSC.

Nhan Thanh Tran - Lawrenceville GA, US
Charles Jamile Hamadi - Roswell GA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Mobility II LLC - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04L 12/28
H04W 72/00
