Recombinant Infectious Laryngotracheitis Virus

View page
US Patent:
52799654, Jan 18, 1994
Filed:
Apr 5, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/681704
Inventors:
Calvin L. Keeler - Newark DE
International Classification:
C12N 1586
C12N 510
US Classification:
4353201
Abstract:
The present invention is concerned with the preparation of an Infectious Laryngotracheitis Virus (ILTV) mutant which does not produce a functional thymidine kinase enzyme as a result of a mutation in the TK gene, and its preparation. The invention also relates to an ILTV mutant containing a heterologous gene encoding an antigen of an avian pathogen incorporated into the TK gene. Such an ILTV mutant can be applied as a vector vaccine to induce an immune response after infection of an appropriate host animal.

Gene Encoding Cytadhesin Protein Of Mycoplasma Gallisepticum And Its Use

View page
US Patent:
53788206, Jan 3, 1995
Filed:
Nov 9, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/973257
Inventors:
Calvin L. Keeler - Newark DE
John E. Dohms - Newark DE
International Classification:
C07H 2102
C07H 1700
C12N 1500
C12N 120
US Classification:
536 231
Abstract:
The nucleic acid encoding the membrane-associated cytadhesin protein of M. gallisepticum is disclosed, together with the amino acid sequence of the encoded product. The nucleic acid sequence finds utility as a probe for M. gallisepticum DNA to diagnose M. gallisepticum infection in poultry. Expression of fragments of the nucleic acid sequence into polypeptide is also disclosed.
