Filed:
Sep 13, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/660809
Inventors:
Mark S. Knighton - Santa Monica CA
David S. Agabra - Pacific Palisades CA
William D. McKinley - Los Angeles CA
John Z. Zheng - San Gabriel CA
David D. Drobnis - Mar Vista CA
J. Douglas Logan - Cerritos CA
Basel F. Bahhour - Riverside CA
Jill E. Haynie - Santa Monica CA
Kevin H. Vuong - Baldwin Park CA
Amit Tandon - Torrance CA
Kent E. Sidney - West Los Angeles CA
Peter L. Diaconescu - Anaheim CA
Assignee:
NextEngine, Inc. - Santa Monica CA
International Classification:
G01B 1130
US Classification:
356601, 382154
Abstract:
A method and apparatus to digitize three-dimensional objects. A projection assembly is retained in fixed relation to an imaging assembly. The projection assembly projects a fixed gradient light pattern into a focal zone of the imaging assembly. The imaging assembly integrates the illumination over time such that the fixed gradient reveals the features of the three dimensional object.

High Performance Rotary Axis

View page
US Patent:
6765501, Jul 20, 2004
Filed:
Oct 31, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/285063
Inventors:
Mark S. Knighton - Santa Monica CA
Amit Tandon - Carson CA
John Z. Zheng - Rowland Heights CA
Basel F. Bahhour - Garden Grove CA
Marc Goldman - Santa Monica CA
David D. Drobnis - Mar Vista CA
Theodore J. Hauser - Simi Valley CA
Assignee:
NextEngine, Inc. - Santa Monica CA
International Classification:
H03M 122
US Classification:
341 2, 384906
Abstract:
A high performance rotary axis. An upper and lower unit are coupled together by a pair of bearings to permit relative rotation between the units. The bearings are biased relative to others along a link to reduce play between the bearings. A processor and sensor provide for detection of relative positions between the units. A floating stop may be provided to permit rotation about the axis in greater than 360Â.
