US Patent:
20060170590, Aug 3, 2006
Filed:
Jan 28, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/045679
Inventors:
Anuradha Soman - Miramar FL, US
Robert Marples - Coral Springs FL, US
Assignee:
Motorola, Inc. - Schaumburg IL
International Classification:
G01S 5/14
US Classification:
342357120
Abstract:
A global positioning system (GPS) receiver () for receiving signals from a plurality of GPS satellites has a plurality of antennas (), a receiver () coupled to the plurality of antennas, and a processor () coupled to the receiver. The processor is programmed to collect () from the receiver information from each of the plurality of antennas corresponding to signals received from the plurality of GPS satellites, process () the information, identify () from the processed information an antenna from the plurality of antennas having a probability higher than the other antennas for accurately locating the GPS receiver, locate () the GPS receiver according to signals from the plurality of GPS satellites received by the antenna if () the probability is greater than a predetermined threshold.

Method And Electronic Device For Selective Transfer Of Data From Removable Memory Element

US Patent:
20070088914, Apr 19, 2007
Filed:
Oct 14, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/250653
Inventors:
Anuradha Soman - Miramar FL, US
Eric Eaton - Lake Worth FL, US
International Classification:
G06F 12/00
US Classification:
711115000
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method () and electronic device () for the selective transfer of data from a removable memory element (). The electronic device can include a port () that can receive the removable memory element, a memory () that can selectively store data from the removable memory element and a processor () that can be coupled to the port and the memory. The processor can be programmed to detect () a removal event in which the removal event can provide an indication that the removal of the removable memory element is about to occur and in response to the detection, selectively transfer () data from the removable memory element to the memory. The processor can be further programmed to transfer data from the removable memory element to the memory only if the data has been used by an application of the electronic device.
